Description
Another composition by my friend Jerry_Quinn. As was the case with The River of Time, Jerry wrote the song, sang both lead and harmony vocals, and played tenor sax. I'm playing the guitars and electric bass.

Lacks nuthin in the guitar department
Very nice slow dance music here... solid composition, sweet lyrics, and great sax work & singing. And as mentioned, solid, professional guitar work here. Well mixed and balanced.

It's very gratifying that someone like yourself, who has produced so much high quality music and is so well respected within the macjams community, approves of our work. Thank You!

Another winner from you guys. Jerry's vocal has some laid-back, Mark Knopfler charm going on here.Love your guitar work, especially the electric tremelo. What effects are you using.
Great breathy sax tone.

Thank You!
I had never noticed the "Mark Knopfle" in Jerry's vocals until you mentioned it. As for the electric guitar, a Line6 GuitarPort was my first ever music device for my computer. I bought it years ago just as a toy. When I got the Mac a few years back I learned it could be used as a USB interface. That led to me downloading the free version of PodFarm from Line6. I believe that guitar sound is an Analog Delay/Tweed Bassman/Optical tremelo/Spring Riverb. That GuitarPort can be the best $99 a guitar player can spend for their home recording rig. Again thanks for listening.

How cool is it that thanks to the Internet people half way around the globe can hear our music while at the same time sharing theirs. Thanks for making the long trip to America to hear our song.

I too am a sucker for a good ballad. I love how Jerry gets right to the point with his lyrics and his vocal. I hope the musical arrangement I built around them did his performance justice. Thanks for giving us a listen.

Wonderful....
...you two do such consistently fine work--this was no exception. What my mind calls a "sunset song" (don't ask how I categorize!). Good work!!

Thank You
It is always nice when someone takes the time to listen to one's music. It is even more special when they have kind things to say about what they heard. When someone, like yourself, who is responsible for consistently excellent work describes our music as "flawless and beautiful," well, that is more than I could ever ask for. Thank you!

We Need a Manager
Perhaps you could book us some gigs in Ireland. I think at this point in our lives we'll be sticking to the studio (which is simply our Macs in our living rooms). It's always nice when someone, who posts consistently excellent work, has kind things to say about our efforts. Thanks for the listen. And thank you for taking the time to explore some of our earlier submissions.

Hey Andrew...
My only complain on this would be the sax booms in a tiny bit too much in the front at the start... If I were you I'd back it into the mix a tiny bit. I personally love sax but it is a piercing instrument so it doesn't need to be right out front.

Everything else about this is simply perfect! What more can be said!?

Good Point
Your comment about the sax in the intro brings up an interesting point about mixing. When does one have it right? That seems impossible to answer. I don't have proper monitors nor do I use any dedicated mastering software. At this point I'll mix to an mp3 using Bose in-ear monitors, computer speakers, and sound dock (for my Ipod). I'll also play mixes through some very cheap and very unforgiving computer speakers. I also rely on Master track presets (compression and EQ) in GarageBand. I hear my mixes improving but don't consider myself a mixing or mastering engineer. My next purchases may be some proper monitors and Ozone4. Thanks again for listening and commenting.

Thanks
Jerry just got a new MacBook Pro. He's just now dipping his toe in GarageBand. He has done a lot of recording with other types of technology so I know he'll get there and then eventually here. He does look in on the comments our collaborations get. So I know he'll be thrilled to read your kind words about his sax, singing, and songwriting. Thanks for taking the time to check this one out.
