Temazepam Dreams

I began work on this on a summer day at my sisters house in the Shropshire countryside (on one of my all too infrequent trips 'home') and finished it 18 months later half way across the world in Arizona.

Over that time period, I obtained extra contributions from Prosperine (the voice and words - via Skype) and from Howard Patterson (the lovely melodic keyboard part).

Whilst I was in the UK, Rob Shaw helped with the bassline and some of the glitchy beats and my friend Brian (Dr Rock) contributed the 'father' choir which came from a song of his of the same name

anyone that uses whilst in their song description is all right by me.... This has a world beat groove to it and the spoken word by Prosperine is intriguing and performed more like clouds of thought than actual prose. So if this is what you were going for, I got it! Very nice all the way round and the assistance from Rob and Howard must have been greatly appreciated.

clouds of thought
i really like that - i think i will use that at some time in the future - cheers

i am never sure what i am going for when i begin - sometimes it may emerge after i have started. that was true of this piece. prosperine's voice and howards keys were the glue and structure

but brian and rob's contributions were essential

thanks for the listen/comment - much appreciated

18 months and worth the wait. Both Prosperine and Howard's parts added a lot to the mix. Good that you kept the whole thing in play. I tend to either forget or lose interest. This is very worthy of the title :-) Love that pic

Long collab
Way cool song art. Did you take that photo? Great doll, pose. I dug the slow evolution of the compiling, all the contributors, the dreamy lazy feel. I had trouble understanding the words and wished you'd've posted them. I appreciate concept songs, the sense of storytelling, tone poem backings, thoughtful arrangement. The almost easy listening element to the accompaniment adds to the distant detached voice and its alienated message. But the track doesn't seem to go anywhere, doesn't really involve a sense of drama I was hoping for. Still, interesting conceptual track. Thanks for sticking with it, carrying it with you all those miles. Nice clear production.

Production so smmooth it begs the question, "Is it real."
There are voicings here to tickle the ears as well. Thanks for sharing your tunes.

friday chill
perfect song for this 'nearly spring' Friday.
Love that snare sound and there's some lovely sweet sounds coming in all over the place without it feeling crowded.
Sort of Talk Talk meets the Orb.
Cool stuff

18 months of gestation
makes quite an offspring: this was beautifully realized. Love the beats, the deliberate tempo, the electronic-but-not-icy instrumentation. The spoken word part is really effective too, slipping just beneath conscious scrutiny.

Oh wow - this is so cool
a new "there is a point" - what a great job you did with this Bryn. Man - you can create the most sublime atmospheres and lazy beats (good thing lazy) - this is so good. Excellent bass from Mr. Shaw - and if all Prosperine did was have the name Prosperine I'd love her.

Well up to your usual standards. Crystal clear sound. Terrific mix. Always love an English accent (must be cause I don't hear many these days! except mine) Really good all around. Wonderful sound choices as always too.

Dark, quite dark
This is a really cool piece. Simple rhythm, dark sounds, spoken text; a very effective combination.
