Description
Acoustic fingerpicking solo with Open D tuning:
DADGAD

To be honest I was going to name it "panic" because of what's been happening in the news. But now I kind of feel I don't want to draw as much attention to it because it is so terrible.
God bless them.

Tearout is not so brutal of a word. I have seen some pretty tough tear-outs especially this week when I had to clean off somebody's grout job that they left gout smear on marble for what could be close to a month.
The grout should of been cleaned off the marble with in 30 minuets let alone almost a month. This remodeling contractor hired me to clean up grout that was one of the worst grout jobs I think I've ever seen. You wouldn't believe the smear that this person left. Even somebody with one day experience would not of left this mess.
There is way more to the story, but I'll let it go at that!

Actually, I can feel the tension of your original title "panic" in the minor key feel of this (which would have been a more relevant name than Tearout, but then again, what's in a name?), which works nicely with the DADGAD tuning, and it's very full sounding. You get a really nice sound from your guitar. I'm very partial to this kind of music and probably tend to grade this higher than most would because of that. Really good job. Once again reminding me of John Fahey, a direct predecessor of Leo Kottke.

Thanks Jim
Thanks Jim, good luck to you in your music. You have a
nice guitar sound too for sure. I know one of my goals
here is to hear a lot of your music.

Thanks, I know I have to change my guitar strings because
I have been beating them to death :) Maybe I should play
keyboard more often so I don't have to keep changing
strings. One string is really annoying me, I just have to get
it changed for sure.

Thanks
Bill

well...
As I was actually doing a little Roman Travertine vein-cut
tile tear-out today, I had to listen to this song of yours.
And once again, I wasn't disappointed. Only wish it went
on a little longer.
Truly and awfully sad what has happend on the other side
of the globe. It is good to be sensitive to that inner voice,
even when deciding on a title for one's song.

Thanks Dadai

I just did a newer version of "Tearout", I call it "Tearout 2". I wasn't happy
with the strings I had on the acoustic guitar I recorded the tune on. They were
light gauge I think. But any way they were in need of new strings so I put on
some nice "Martin SPs Marquis". I wasn't happy with the 2nd string for sure,
that one had to be light guage no question. When You drop the tuning of
those light gauge they can be murder:(
Plus, I added some synth (bass, percussion) with my synthesizer.

Hey, your a tile guy too plus a musician, small world:)

Thanks again for posting

Bill

Great fingerpicking!
This reminds me of a John Fahey instrumental (as
someone else here has mentioned). The finger picking is
very ornate and disciplined. You obviously have a real
affinity for acoustic playing, you get a very rich tone out of
your guitar.. I will have to work my way through your
formidable back catalogue!

Yes I do sing
I try to do ones that I can sing in key at least I try for that goal.

Wood is important in a guitar for sure.

Thanks for visiting so many of my tunes. I really appreciate that.
