Description
This one is not for the faint hearted. A sort of jazz-fusion thing, pretty heavy I think. There are twelve tracks altogether. Two EXS24 bass tracks, five Zebra 2, two Albino 3, one ReFX Vanguard, together with two Ultrabeat drum tracks, one with an R+B remix setting, and one with a Funk Boogie setting. I've spent forever on this one. A mighty lot of pencilling!

Thanks for dropping by.

Funkified Dava
Who could resist that bass/drum groove? Down and dirty. Slick outside scales -- lots o' pencilling? -- no doubt. Bit of an Eastern and/or Middle Eastern vibe to it. Nice. Top production. Goes good with morning coffee. Kind of a double adrenaline infusion.

Cheers!
And how's the universe today?

The "Middle Eastern vibe" just sort of happened. May be that the choice of synth voice makes it so. Glad, anyway to have helped you wake up!

Thanks again.

Hi Dave.......
This piece sounds like something done in the studio when Weather Report were putting together the Heavy Weather album. Quite brilliant I think!!

I will be playing this over and over. I love jazz fusion and this is some of the best. You really hit the spot.

Great production and arrangement.

Take care.

Paul

Cheers Paul!
Really kind comments, once again. I'm also a big fan of the fusion sound, in all it's guises. I remember getting into Heavy Weather, all those years ago. Brilliant, still, but I'm afraid they are in another league entirely! I'll take the compliment however!

Thanks again Paul. Hope all is well with you.

Me...
... likes this very much! I was hoping for some electric guitar here and there. It's fine by itself, though! Excellent stuff.

Thanks
That would be great! Alas, I don't have an electric guitar, only my little workstation. I'd be happy for someone to put some in though!

Thanks again.

Thank you madam!
The bass is actually two settings doubled up. I used the "Liverpool Bass" setting in the EXS24 sampler [which I really like and have used a lot] and doubled it with a "Phat Fifth" setting to give it a bit more of a dirty sound. I like it too!

Thanks again. :-)

Great funk...
Love the really deep bass and kick coupled with the very bright and sparkly stuff. Groovy.
Cheers

Jazz Fusion, huh
Again something I wouldn't go looking for, but your version of it sure sounds pretty intrigueing. And who can say no to some creamy lemon curd to go with the evening cup of tea! Ahhh, thanks for that!

Good morning!
It's nice and sunny here at the other end of the M62 and I'm sitting having tea and toast, alas without lemon curd. Maybe the Asda run later will prove fruitful in that department. Guess we are both doing the same thing up here in the Grim North!

Thanks.

Just for
using all of that, you deserve a medal. It was well worth it, though. It is perfect for an updated walk soundtrack for John Travolta, through a city that's lit with a thousand neon signs.:)
