Yep
I tried to make it sound like one of the classic funk songs from back in the day (pre-parliament). Glad you enjoyed.

Samples
It took a very long time to pick out all the breaks. There were at least 15 others that I tried and decided to save for another time.

Glad to hear you liked it.

nice man
i really like that old school breakbeat and tearing the vinyl up the way you did is an art in itself. very precise and calculated without loosing too much spontaneity. Impressive!

btw
i wonder why you used logic though. Just to record everything in?

spitlogic said 3389 days ago (March 15th, 2010)
Logic
Logic was used to make the soundbed (the bassline, initial drum, and horns). Also the echo effects had to be used as well. I cleaned up the sound on the vinyl as well as some levels were higher than others (since some records were older). The rewind and the very beginning were done separate from the groove and were plugged in.

da funk. That's great at 1:10. So much splicing that there had to be a lot of time taken. Great attention to detail. You keep it interesting. :)

Splicing
I didn't do much splicing except for the beat itself. All the cuts and breaks were done in real time (for the most part). Thanks for the listen. I finally know who you are Miss Char.

percussion
I was in the mindset of the classic "Apache" track done by The Incredible Bongo Band from back in the day. That song, to me, is the prototype for the Breakdancer.

Glad you stopped by.
