LucidTroubadour (from iComp) posted a really great version of this Nat King Cole hit a while back. I really liked the hip hop treatment he gave it and was inspired to do a remix with added instrumentation.
Mr.Troubadour performed the vocals and beats.
I added guitar bass and keys and reworked some of original beats and added some modified drum loops.

Some interesting info about the composer of this song:

eden ahbez (born George Alexander Aberle in Brooklyn, New York on April 15, 1908; died March 4, 1995) was an American songwriter and recording artist from the 1940s-1960s, whose lifestyle in California was influential on the hippie movement.Living a bucolic life from at least the 1940s, he traveled in sandals and wore shoulder-length hair and beard, and white robes.
He camped out below the first L in the Hollywood Sign above Los Angeles, studied Oriental mysticism, and claimed to live on three dollars a week, sleeping outdoors with his family, and eating vegetables, fruits, and nuts.

Nice update
Hard to believe it, but every singer at the time this was first written passed on it and even Nat King Cole was not so sure about it (of course, it's one of his most remembered recordings). Lucid is a topflight singer and (and a real gent I've found) and your variation here with him here had a lot of remarkable and fresh touches.....good job and thanks for posting! Michael

wow, as in picks up jaw off floor. Singing off the charts cool. Guitar solo was simply incredible. Loved that progression and sultry beat that pulsed thru out.

production, very crisp and lots of head-room. Impressive! A tad repetitive after a while, but that doesn't mean I didn't thoroughly enjoyed the song and the story behind the it. Nice!
