Beautiful
I love the boldness of the main theme. What are you using for software instruments. The strings are lush and the brass is smooth. Excellent piece very nicely orchestrated.

Thanks alackbass
I used Orchestral Jampacks, EWSilver and some Bolt String instruments on this.

While
this has that Celtic lilt it also has the feel of 'the big country' don't you think? Of course that cantering rhythm and the horns give the feeling of space, while the strings add another dimension to it .......love the picture too, regards M

I guess
I can't get that Big Country thing out of my system but I don't think I want to.
Thanks Maurice

Celtic?
And no bagpipes?

Cool track. I particularly enjoyed the intricacies of the string arrangement.

Soundtrack quality
There may be a Celtic influence here, which is very nice, but the mood is quite intense and suspenseful with something significant about to happen, and that Celtic quality is taken over by the small, but unstoppable army of basses and staccato strings. Quite compelling, I like the solid structure and build of this track!

Celtic
is there but you're right it's not the dominant influence at all. I was drawn to the intense aspect of this and went with it. Thanks for your thoughts Parichayaka I'm always happy when you catch something I've done.
Cheers,
Charlie

Nonsense?
Not at all. There is a feeling a purpose and determination about this which your walking metaphor suites quite well.
Thanks ste.

Driving
A great piece of orchestral music. It has a good driving beat, even when there is no percussion playing. Cool melodies over simple chords.

Around 1:40 and later at 2:40 I feel that the flute melody does not fit the chords. Of course there's nothing wrong with a dissonance here and there, but it comes very unexpectedly after the rest of the piece has been very consonant.

Guilty as charged.
I often feel that a music without at least a some dissonance, is like a meal without spice.

Hi Charlie
Sorry for being so long to get to this, This is one of your finer works my friend. There are so many parts that are really great. The flute entry at 0:26 that gets passed to the oboe; The high legato violins around this insistent low string rhythm; touches of horns here and there; the build to tension at 2:23; and a lot more besides. I also agree with Parichayaka, that once again you've created this sense of movement toward something unknown and possibly dangerous. Becoming a trademark?

You were in a particularly creative and inspired mood I think. Thanks for the dload!!

Cheers,
Doug

Trademark?
I think it's become my brand!
You're right this piece drew me in and would let go until it was done with me. I felt like an innocent bystander.
Well maybe not so innocent.
Thanks my friend.
