Ghosts of Thailand (w-Kassia)

Description
Kassia's Hang piece which I wanted to add to in an ambient/world sort of way. My attempt here is to augment the Hang's rich bell like sounds not to dominate Kassia's work.

While the Hang is not an oriental instrument to me it has that far east vibe.
I used various oriental woodwinds and a highly processed Erhu...

My thanks to Shay for allowing me to work with the track, and I hope you enjoy it.

This has been inspiring
Witnessing the way Shay's original idea was put out there and bounces back in a variety of different ways has been fun and insteresting. Some have made her work a backdrop to their own additions. I like this approach where your parts act as background for hers until the flute melody, when there's an almost equal importance. This has tremendous potential as film soundtrack music.

Hi......
This is a wonderful arrangement. Your additions do not remove anything from Shay's original but only enhance the mix.

Take care.

Good bells... good ears!
I've missed a few... first let me check-out Kassia's (http://macjams.com/song/60493), so I'll be right back...
[still processing...]
Well, you were VERY respectful of Kassia's piece. You certainly did not dominate it, and I'm among those (everyone) who believes it's a fine augmentation. Good ears!

Vibe
Nice combination of sounds. I think I like the electronic additions better than the sampled oboe and such. They go better with the abstract vibe of this piece.

Muchly enjoyed.
