Score for the movie (Intense)

Get Flash to see this player.

I was sent a selection of scenes from a film in Production, it's a scene or scenes of a women being stalked and chased by a hit man in a dark building with a leaky roof and water coming down..It's a low light scene... they are intense scenes or series of scenes..
I was asked to submit a sound track that matched the collage sent to me, that is
why there are abrupt changes in this music..I was given 2 days to send them something, I was told I will not get the work but they would like to build a file on me for future reference..
Part of trying to work in this part of the business is quick turn around, most films have small budgets for music work and quickness is something they look for when working with people, also it gives them an idea on how you see the work they are doing, then the change the music part starts and that is the frustrating part, it is never good enough...A friend in the business helped me make the connection but he warned me some time ago that if you are not ready to fight with directors then stay away from this kind of work directors will drive you crazy...

Anyway it was an intense experience for me, and I had this for them in 9 hours..I have always been able to work quickly thats how I work when composing...

My hope is that you can see in your minds eye what the scenes may have looked like because of the music bed...

Let me know your thought please..

Good luck!
Dave, I have a question: are these various individual music cues or is this to used in the film as it sounds here in sequential order? There seems to be several motifs here so this is why I ask. In any event, it all sounds excellent--my only suggestion would be to change the piano opening to a harpsichord (they just sound more scary somehow--the piano works just as well, but this is something you might want to doodle with). Hope this all works out for you Dave! Thanks again, Michael

I think that piano's plenty scary
The slight out of tune effect and percussive effect of the piano is full of suspense. Great mix of low brass and strings. The percussion adds to the drama. This is the soundtrack to that dream where someone's trying to catch you and no matter what you can't get away. I bet this is killer in full surround sound. Oh yeah.............this works.

I agree, keep the piano. This is bloody intense! Harpsichord MIDI is usually crap, imo, you did well with the piano.

every piece has a kind of dread in it. There are a lot of startles that make you gasp. It is Terror-rific. A smart director will be in awe. Once you get your foot in the door, then, you'll be very busy. Best of luck. Thanks for letting us hear. :)

Not only is this great, but you did it in 9 hours????????????????????????????????

You most effectively convey suspense and tension here, and so well orchestrated. Keep doing what you are doing, you sound to me like you are on the right track. Thank you for sharing this with us!

This sounds top drawer to me.... so pro.... and it's almost coming out of the speakers.... the tension and drama is so evident in the orchestration and the sounds you use. I absolutely love this and it's what you were born to do it seems.... all your work spells 'quality', regards M

Great Work!
This was an incredible listening experience for sure. The only part that I feel leaves room for improvement is the opening harp section, but maybe thats only because I couldnt see the video. Great job!

In two days you created this!? Incredible! I love the panic I'm feeling. Not only did you visualize the scenes for me, you placed me in the picture! Excellent composition for a thriller.
