Hurts Like An Ocean

Get Flash to see this player.

Jak The Sad again rears his very ugly head to once more woo his muse.

This song is dedicated to the love of my life who lives, for the moment, on the other side of the Atlantic. That will change later this year but for now.. It hurts. (Like An Ocean)

It's all my own work and was written by me.

I like the hook. I agree with JD, I hear a Doors influence. I like both the guitar and mando, and the vocs sound good to me. Mix sounds great. Genre? I would call this alternative rock.

There is
a slow, deliberate delivery that does sound like The Doors. A very interesting listen. :)

Like this one quite a bit
not as much as the "you are the one" but the guitar riffing in this is epic. Then again, I think "you are the one" is a song difficult to equal. I think this song could be epic if you could add a bit more vocal range into the song. I keep wanting to hear it soar and it just doesnt quite do it. It starts out smouldering and you are waiting for it to burst but it never does. You have got some great songwriting talent, keep working it. Some great stuff here.

Jak(the sad) only smolders, never bursts and would as soon be epic as have his nads off. The Post Punk Indie thing does not pander to the listener; rather he or she must seek. It goes without saying than many(most)don't get it. It's all about being non-mainstream. people who like it, really like it. In any case this song is very personal and crafted for a specific person for whom it makes more sense than a casual listener. I don't sing at all well and am hard pushed to achieve even this poor standard. I only persist in singing in the hope that the message of the song carries the day. Really I need a decent vocalist. I fear I must say that I consider "Your The One That I Want" an altogether silly song. It was my intention to mock it while passing a message to my girlfriend who loves such sarcasm. I think Your comments are intersting, well put and in the main, very apt. Thank you kindly.

P.S. The riffs are performed with mandolins.

Now that folk mention it I'm hearing The Doors myself. It wasn't my intention and I don't "feel" terribly influenced by them. BUT! Someone of my age could probably not help being so. Even if only subliminally.
