An Uncomfortable Silence

Description
This me in my "Practical Mechanics" mode. My buddy Colin helped with this one. He wrote and sang the Hindi Lyrics.
(very well too for a guy from Glasgow) (For which read he looked them up in an old, Indian medical book.) Apparently one voice says "why do I have pain?) While the other replies "the pain is in your head.) Isn't serendipity great. John Travolta as Vincent plucked from his nightmare date with Mia in Pulp Fiction is the other sample along with Michael Rennie from The Robe.

The rest is me. .

An Uncomfortable Silence
The beat combined with the droney sound is almost hypnotic. Is that a resonator guitar or a dobro I hear? Cool stuff

Four varied pieces.
All were top notch. Your basement must rock. I hope the neighbors don't call the police. Colin made a good Hindu stand-ini. Super cool. I rarely say that, so it is not trite coming from me. :)

Flattery
Why you ol flatterer you... My basement must.. be cleaned soon or I shall have to start feeding it. I too hope the neighbours don't call the Police lest I unleash upon them a quick and terrible violence. Only kiddin. I monitor low Char and I say now to all you crazy kids out there.. You may not think you'll need your ears when your old but you will. Learn to hear at a moderate level. Not just for health but your work will improve too.

An Uncomfortable Silence
Great concept. I always love when artists bring together eastern and western elements. Great hypnotic groove, almost Asian in feel. The resonator guitar (is that a loop) has the tone of the American south. But the melody played on it has a decidedly eastern sound. And I'm always cool with a Pulp Fiction reference. I wonder if I would have picked it up had you not told me? It's very subtle, which makes it all the more cool.

Thanx for your kind comments. The Reso Sound is actually the feedback-synth from the Logic synth bank. The slide is a sample from an abandoned attempt at Vigilante Man I did ages ago. I love to salvage... The main beat is a loop but I worked on it a bit.

Very Nice____
Well put together. Nice vocal work. The beat reeled me right in and kept me interested to the end.

Enjoyed - Thanks for sharing,

Thanx
Yeah Colin did well there. I backed the main vox by cloning him and vocal tranforming to female vox. I thought it worked quite well. Thanks for agreeing.

Exelent!
That's what I am talking about! Yeah! I love the ending. You manage to blend all the pieces together to turn all these sounds(some Gothic) into a catchy rhythmic piece. My favorite keyboard player(Chris Lowe PSB) grew up in Glasgow.

Great stuff!

That acoustic guitar loop
never sounded so good! Judging from the date on these songs of yours, you're long gone..... absolutely MJ's loss.

I'm an old Fireman but have re-invented myself as a basement dwelling producer of gloomy, computerised music that no one listens to and would hate if they did. I started my fixation with music production in the 80s when I independently discovered ... [see more]
