The Wheel of Pain

Description
Whips crack, men cry out in despair. The wheel turns ever onward, made of bone and greased with blood as it grinds flesh to dust and ashes.

Man You Got a Style
I can feel myself dragging that heavy stone block with the rest of the wretched slaves. Who doesn't love a gong. Nice clarinet theme.

Oh yes..
The camera flies over a desert, over a mountain pass and finally to a quarry, dark and chilled. Men are bent by the rocks on their backs. No one looks ahead, just down. And no one ever smiles. Because here, these are not men but beasts of burden. Yeah...inexorable passage of time in punishment and degradation. Not The Sound of Music! You got it. :)

big sound
This is BIG! What software are you using? Great sounds and nice use of the brass. Love that alto clarinet. The steady drum beats give the perfect steady pace to this - creating the exact image you describe. This is great stuff - I have a couple of suggestions. Let your poor brass players breathe once in awhile. :) Especially since they are blowing their brains out for you. And maybe during that very cool clarinet solo, clear the background out even more, thin out those deep strings a little to make a real contrast with the big brass sections. I hope you are marketing this stuff to movie studios.

wow!
Thanks for the tips, I'll try employing them in the next piece. I'm just using garage band and the musical typing function. I'm just touching my toe into the water with this stuff, so the raising and lowering of the sections still is a bit intimidating. as to marketing, I'm not that good, but thanks for the vote of confidence!

new gameshow?
I was in a chinese restaurant in Georgetown at 3 am one sunday morning. The guy i was with ordered stuff off the "secret menu". Suddenly the lazy susan on the table was filled with stuff and animal parts from animals I'v never even heard of. He made me try all sorts of crazy stuff. That was my wheel of pain. This song was quite enjoyable to listen to. You paint quite a picture!
