Lyrics by Jason Didner, Music by Harout Kalandjian/J. Didner

In the first light of morning
I awake to your beauty and grace
Ooh, you stretch out so gently
And I caress your loving face

How lucky I am, how lucky I am,
How unlucky I almost was
When that door slammed on me – I was out in the cold
I was ready for you because

I’d been abandoned
Till I learned to give up on some ghost
I’d been abandoned
Left to figure out what mattered most

I’d been abandoned
Then your voice rescued me from No Man’s Land
I’d been abandoned
I was abandoned into better hands

Oh, The punishing flood of my heartache
Had been too heavy to bear
Left my waking to wonder
If my soul was still there

Then you gave me a sign, you gave me the light
You gave me a reason to love
You came in through my door – now my soul’s safe and warm
To rise and to shine high above

Being abandoned
Learning slow to give up on the ghost
I’d been abandoned
Baby you’re the one that matters most

I’d been abandoned
Then your touch had rescued me from No Man’s Land
I’d been abandoned
I was abandoned into better hands

I’d been abandoned
I’d been abandoned – into better hands

Nice melody
I like the chorus. This track would benefit from more of a sense of loudness I think. If you have an aural exciter or a harmonic maximizer, that would likely achieve this for you. I like the vocals in there. I would bump up the backing vocals a bit in this too, they are a bit too understated IMO. Great hook and well executed song. Just a couple of production tweaks will take this song to another level. BTW, if you want me to give you an example, msg me and I will run the mix through my maximizer to show you what I mean.

I agree a bit with Charles, I think this song has "something"...I think the vocals are good...reminds a bit of Dug Pinnick of Kings X on some of there more mellow stuff. This is close guys, a couple of tweaks and I think you'll have a great song.

In Re: I've Been Abandoned
This is very interesting. And, "Loob," I love the drums. That's actually the first thing I noticed about this song. The chorus is great...love the echo of "I've been abandoned." Very catchy. Caught my attention and kept it for the whole song, which says alot. Generally, my threshold of tolerance for music is about five to ten seconds. Great job on this.

The drumline floated, so to speak. I really liked the song. I thought the backing vox were a little bit too pervasive, though, but I've never been a fan of the 'chorus,' so other may think differently.
