Tiger's Symphony

Description
Original.

I suppose maybe inspired somewhat after seeing the shrine
circus recently ~ at the Target Center ~ I feel for these animals in captivity -
but they are safer there than in-the-wild ~ usually -
I don't tend to wear leather . . . and these Baldwin Keytops are composite - . . . not the original ivory . . . * Yes this old clunker, although it has been worked on, (inexpensive), creates some funny ambient noises mostly from the middle pedal - construced then as a sostenuto pedal . . . which I prefer over the simple 'sustain split' middle pedal - this sostenuto creates the natural echo by lifting the lower dampers when depressed. The 2 mics. picked some of this up too unfortunately - altough I did also recontour these felt hammers -
to make for a less harsh 'attack' ~ hah

but if you're really tired - there seems to be an unsettling harsh tone color produced in this piano recording - it can singe nerve endings - I could feel it in the bottom of my left foot - working its way into my lower left fillings.
Sorry.

since fingernails on a chalkboard =

tiger teaguer burning bright
Perhaps this is a tiger cub and siblings, frolicking in the forest shade. There is some thoughtfulness, then more exuberance. A lithe, beautiful composition, well played and embellished with shades of strings. The painting is an added delight.

Interesting
and quite enjoyable. I found the piano felt like it was in another room from the rest of the sound bed. Other than that... It was cool.

What a great inspiration! Thank you for supporting the Shriner's! (My husband is a Shriner). The Circus is only one of the many ways they work to raise money for the wonderful work they do for the children in their hospitals....all at no charge.

I thoroughly enjoyed your performance here. Wonderful! d/l.

The playing is fantastic! I will download this. It will give me something to noodle along with when I'm practicing my acoustic guitar. It would be challenging and quite enjoyable.

yah
yah ~ any of this stuff can be played with -
this particular one has no midi file - ( feel free to
repost with additions also - that would be exciting !) as -
probably can be noticed - no changes can be made
with the piano - as it is a once through thing -
with a big old piece of firewood - but my accomplice =
for some reason she is so sentimental about this
thing - which we adopted 10 years back - I've seen better acoustic pianos for free - the pinblock - has once been soaked with grenadine syrup - and is swollen beyond repair I think - I should have used more appropriate mics. for this recording also - maybe I've been trying to get fresh milk from a dead dryed-up chunk of cactus - chuckle

I don't play piano
so was clueless about the description, and it sounds wonderful to me. I think the tone of the composite keys and sustained notes gives it a feel of an old tiger who is looking back at his life and dreaming of the chase. You get such passion out of the keys!

Hey I really liked this
It has both the feeling of watching the circus performance (theme) and then reflections of the tiger's beauty as imagining it in the wild. Great song.

It is a pleasure
... to hear real piano on a track... we get so used to hearing sequenced, sampled pianos that I think some people might forget what the real thing sounds like sometimes.

You play with a very light touch.

The mood is sweet, positive, up, very sensitive... I like it!

Classy!
Excellent Scott. Lots of fun but with darker elements rising up.

Wonderful playing and a subtle arrangement.

Cheers

tiger's symphony
dig some of the progressions in this, and a nice arrangement here, piano has some really strong points where it tells me about its feelings, hard not to leave this piece feeling a little bit happier =)

sprightly tiger
So nice to hear the sound of a real piano, used in service of a circus animal no less.

I've never really known what to do with the sostenuto pedal--glad you obviously do!

I particularly like the part that comes in a few times that has the descending chromatic bass with secondary dominants...

This is beautiful! My cat liked it too! He came up just to listen, left at the end seemingly satisfied :) I didn't hear a harsh tone.

Cat music
I like the playful mood of the opening, which made my think of cats playing (not playing piano, although my cats like to do that too; just playing!). I like the more expansive middle sections too; played with skill and sensitivity. Well done!
