Vikings Rule!
Is that a Frank Frazetta Illustration? It fits the music well. This mix sounds pretty good for a live recording. Might be nice to add a touch of reverb or delay on the violin (or whatever string instrument that is). As a distant descendant of Scandinavia, I feel a strange longing to bash some heads with my battle-axe. Seriously though this is well played.

Tribal Rock
Very good quality live recording. The drums are particularly good as is that crunchy guitar. The balance is the most impressive thing. Everything can be heard clearly and the melody never gets lost.

Balance...
Thanks Andrew, balance is everything isn't it?
The crunchy guitar comes via a Les Paul into a Mesa Triple Recto at stupid volume. :-)

Very cool
very creative mix of genres here. It isnt really Gothic Rock, more celtic/classical rock but not like Yngwie does. Amazing, this doesnt even sound like a live recording to me. Very well done. How many mics did you use for this? I assume you were line in on the board for guitar, bass. Did you use any room mics? I don't even hear much noise on the drums, are they an e-drum set? Room mics will give your sound more ambience if you WANT more of a live sound but this is pretty great man. Kudos!

Hey Charles
Thanks, our band doesn't know how to classify our music either, but your term "Celtic/Classical" is the best so far.
The drums had 7 mics on it, the guitar is a mesa boogie with 2 mics (panned hard right and left for stereo) and the bass guitar was d.i.
No overdubs and we were all in the same room, just bused everything through a gate.
Thanks again!

Unusual
- I like unusual alot - reminds me very slightly of Gryphon if they were more Bulgarin influenced and rocked out a bit more.Very interesting I facebooked you to pick up a bit more.I quite like the dryness of the recording and the bass has crisp impact without spoiling the clarity of the other instruments - the toms come out excellent.I like the eq on the guitar matching but not clashing with the bass drum.Thats not meant to be technical - its just what I heard - 3rd time I played it about 3 times louder as the first time I played it,which means I enjoyed it! Interesting
This is an interesting track and an enjoyable listen. I does sound like there was quite a few mics open in a room that was rather small and crowded. This isn't bad but there also sounds like there was not a lot of isolation between instruments and some leakage. For what it is though this is quite good with the pickup clean on all the instruments. Hard sometimes to get a good balance with so many open mics and different levels from the instruments. You got it here.

Kicking out the shtøps
Cool stuff here, very clear recording indeed. Much as I love the violins, you may want to drop them back ever so slightly in the mix, or very lightly sprinkle some room reverb on them to help them melt back in to be "with the band". Very cool piece of music here, simple, raw, and rockin'. Great performance!

Thanks Drak
Those Dragon ears are good!
You are absolutely right, the violins need a wee bit more reverb and could come down just a hair for a the ultimate mix.
I appreciate you taking the time,
Cheers
