Ember ā€“ Symphonic Flow

 Genre: Ambient

Drakonis created something good, and I, among many, payed homage.

The arrangement was hardly touched. I switched and added a few instruments and deepened the sound bed. I would've gone full orchestral if I'd had the willpower. This is a cute and ember-assing little hodgepodge. Let me know if there are ways I can improve it.

Here's Drak's version. http://www.macjams.com/song/13185

hardly touched?
It was definitely deftly touched... sweet work here, Matt... I enjoyed the little harmonies and note-tweaks you added that really gave this new character. The slowing at the ending with the last hanging note was great... normally I get antsy when the last note doesn't resolve, but this seemed to be perfect here. Good to see you back here, hopefully I'll get a chance to get back here more too!

Great sounding, atmospheric piece that has a grandeur about it. I like the way percussion ebbs and flows in the mix. Thanks, Peter.

This is
ember played deep inside the cave where the ritual dance is done, where the blade is unsheathed and where the chosen one dies to be reborn...if the shaman read the signs correctly. If he didn't do it right, then this will all have to be done once more with a new sacrifice. This group is running out of virgins. A few have their fingers crossed for various reasons. Thanks.

Drak, thanks. What an inspiring song you made! And thanks, everyone else.

Char, I didn't know the rhythm reminisced of a ritual. I guess I can stretch my imagination that far, but I always imagined Ember as more of a wartime piece than anything. Are the drums too chanty? Well, I can't say I shot for a particular theme with this one. Thanks for your interpretation.
