Description
This was a song that I used to play regularly when in an acoustic 2 piece. Not sure about the genre I've gone for acoustic rock but could possibly border on acoustic pop rock! Just a happy go lucky tune hope you enjoy it. Oh and my mate Seain is playing the lead guitar parts!

Lyrics
Verse 1:
Runaway from all the people dancing in the street
I don't wanna be found, wanna hide and keep it up for weeks.. OH BABY!!!

Chorus:
I am running away from all the things I've left behind
Feeling good, feeling sad
This ain't no state of mind...... OH BABY!!

Verse 2:
Leap up, turn around, the writings on the wall
I know I'm scared, petrified, I don't wanna die... OH BABY!!

Chorus:

Verse 3:
Washed up on the sand, greeting passers by
No-one knows my name, its hard to see what goes on in the street... OH BABY!!

Chorus

Runaway
Liked the way it built up in the chorus with both guitars going for it.

Kept reminding me of the feeling of the highway and a car rather than streets and passers-by.

Had something of the freedom of a country road, big horizon, and easy motion? Sort of thing that doesn't exist in the UK!

Nice job.

Ever popular theme. Nice guitar work from both. Sounds like a live duo at a festival, alright.

Thankyou..
. for the comment! I like my music to sound raw to give it that live feel. I dont want to polish things too much though maybe a little may help a bit!! But it is meant to have a live feel to it.

Coolness
Nothing like the rawness of an acoustic paired up with a vocal. Very cool, the playing is awesome. Great voice & lyrics as well.

Cool jam, song
I thought your voice sounded best in this, but how are you recording the vocals Neil? The guitar sounds DId with peizo pick-ups? Fair bit of hum on the recording (is there some "Gate" in Tracktion sw?) or better lead/earthing? I'm guessing you need a better mic- something you can record vocals and guitar with. Song sounded very rock to me: like an unplugged version of an 80-90s rock number. Lyrics a bit clich├ęd but having said that, aren't most rock numbers. Enjoyed it, keep it up.

Cheers for the comment, glad you liked the song! Unfortunately the recording software and interface is extremely basic basically what you put in you get out! There appears to be no way to master the track before I post it! However I am not too worried as I quite like my sound to be quite raw, though I am working on getting some better equipment once finances allow!! Thanks again.
jdholliday said 2933 days ago (January 5th, 2011)
well done
from the comments/replies i can see you're working within the confines of your equipment, but your talent shines through and a good song is a good song, great job!

.. thankyou very much for the comment! I am working with basic software which although is a bit of a pain as I said before I don't mind to much as it keeps a live feel to it. glad you liked the song. I am very much still finding my feet on here but really like the community very much, it is very supportive!

Driving
across the moors to Whitby I could hear this pumping out the speakers! It reminded me a lot of the early stuff Steve and I did, in fact still do on occassions. I was skint as well when we started and my son got me a cracked copy of Acid pro6 off the net. Works really well and is good enough for us. Welcome to MJ by the way, I drove through your county on the way back from Stockton today. Cheers Mark
