so hungry for your love
but how much will be enough
my heart will bleed before it feeds, ever greedy in it's need
and i can see there's nothin' here for me

why am i risking death, wasting all this breath?
these dreams are dying right where they were left

so, so, so alone
i need something i can call my own
somewhere to belong
why do i yearn?
why do i burn for ordinary things, such ordinary dreams?

is this all just hype that i've created
to ensure my name is celebrated?
i'm tired of being me, i struggle needlessly (endlessly)
life is not what i'd anticipated

no love belongs to me
i've given all i had so set me free
no love, there's no such thing

in the night he crept in and loved them while they slept
he always took his trophy, a souvenir was kept
in comfy beds those sleepy heads, he roamed their darkened halls
in dreamin bliss his whispered kiss, he yearned to touch them all
in the dark he yearned to touch them all
cupid's blackest arrow brings the downfall
in the dark he burned to love them all
cupid's blackest arrows bring the fall

still starving for your love
but wanting this is not enough
if i could see you next to me ... it will never be
been so long without your company

such ordinary dreams ...

shoot 'em all down together, shoot 'em all down together
shoot 'em all down together, line 'em up and shoot 'em all down together
shoot 'em all down, shoot 'em all down together
shoot 'em all down, shoot 'em all down
shoot 'em all down, shoot 'em all down, shoot 'em all down together
shoot 'em all down, shoot 'em all down, shoot 'em all down together

Cupid's Blackest Arrow
Great song. Ed's backer is outstanding. It's both original and inventive, not to mention so well produced. Excellent vocal performance and arrangement. A+ for everybody involved!

Right on target
This is weird, 'cause i did a version of this, and of course my vocal line is in my head, so hearing another take on the song I thought would sound odd to me. It doesnt. This sounds natural, really great vocal melodies, and a fantastic mix. Greggins' voice sounds a bit like matt johnson (The The), deep and rich.... i love the KILL THEM ALL, such focused power.

I could never figure out the end section, and cut it. You guys have taken it and made it your own, making it a powerful, but kinda funky ending.

You've taken Ed's excellent track and made a tough, powerful track that works very naturally.

But, I'm biased, cause I really admire all parties involved with this.

Blown Away
I can listen to Greg and Age sing a phone book and still be impressed; but this is a grade A composition. Fantastic musical bed with impressive guitar work - really brings to mind one of my favorites, John Frusciante - full of soul.
Add the strong vocals and gripping lyrics on top of it, and you have something special. Great collaboration guys.

Shoot me down!
There it is!
Gents, great stuff..... The trilogy is complete.
Such a nice surprise to see this up this morning. I ran for the first set of headphones and had a smile on my face from the first echo of the intro to the last excellent breath of vocal.
Love the lyrics and the vocal delivery. Really impressed and I am over the moon you kept the outro on!!
Thanks for doing this. Worth the wait? I fink so!

Cupids Blackest Arrow
Very cool take on the Ted23 backer. All 3 takes are awesome; yours, echroom & gaylen75, very different versions but excellent. Ed wrote an excellent sound bed and you did a excellent job. Love the lyrics and the vocals are right on. Great job.

Cupid's Blackest Arrow
Terrific backer. I really like the guitar work and the rolling bass line. Vocals/melody backing vocals are very well done, the attitude matches the backer. Production sounds great. The lyric is somewhat ambiguous to me. In verse 1 it is unclear whether the narrator is a potential victim of Cupid (speaking to Cupid), or Cupid
himself. Later on, as the first person narrative continues "to ensure my name is celebrated?" it seems the narrator is Cupid himself. Then in the bridge, the narrative switches to the third person ("he crept in"). This gets confusing.

the blackest arrow
Dave, your interpretation is pretty much spot-on. the first verse unfolds from the perspective of cupid himself, who yearns to feel the love of a mortal woman. though cupid has no problem bringing romance to others, he cannot ever enjoy it himself. the narrator is also cupid in verse 2, and in the chorus, where he yearns for "ordinary things".
by the bridge, cupid has become bitter and frustrated. he sends an arrow into an evil man, with unsettling results.the bridge is cupid narrating the man's actions as he watches the events unfold. eventually, ol' cupid says "to hell with it" and just starts shootin arrows into everyone he sees. the backing vocals can be seen throughout as representing cupid's inner voice, as he grows more and more agitated. i hope this clears up any confusion that may have been caused.

Love it Deadly.
What a fine piece of dark sweets. I found you on this fine, manufactured holiday known as Valentines Day through total coincidence, but it's the perfect coincidence. Great song and great, deadly vocals.
