Crickets (King Kenny cover)

 Genre: Electropop

Get Flash to see this player.

This track originally started as a cover by Kevin (Bud). At this point, APOD and it's members are a completely incestuous musical collective and when Kevin uploaded it into our shared dropbox to get some feedback, the next logical step was for everyone to join in and do an APOD version. The files were there, why not?

Order of Operations:
Kevin recorded an entire version of the song, Bryn recorded an entirely new version of the song (leaving in the bridge from Kevin's version), and then Michael added more to it and mixed it.

The original track was a warm, analog sounding indie americana track; this cover is a cold, digital nod to french electro-pop.

Kevin: I played drums - bass - synths - guitars - vocals - and war samples (garageband).

Bryn: i played...drum loops, organ, vox, synthbass (Logic9)

Michael: glitch cut-ups, reversed drums, vocals, synths (Logic9)

Hope we didn't ruin your song: Crickets by kingkenny

Echoes of Floyd
Particularly in the vocal delivery. Nice space between the sounds. Guitar solo did seem to be a bit out of tune, but maybe this was on purpose.
Great slow groove and motion. Loved the harmony singing in the 2nd half, well done.

The Roof Is On Fire!
You guys are mad.

I personally would like to hear the remaining 10 other versions that I'm sure exist!

Thanks for posting these unique takes on the same great song. It's not redundant at all, in case you're wondering.

All versions are now on my ipod.
