Fantasy...
Curtis Wolf sounds straight forward. When you created your fantasy, did you imagine an ambience? Or did your hear the melody? Did you "hear" all of the thing, or assemble the parts, like an engineer?

it started with those long tones, then improvised a full-note tune, and came up with this!

Thank you...
My wife really liked the thing. If I understand it evolved... that's a great way to do...

Very nice composition and arrangement. I like how it was built from a few simple and effective melodic themes.

What a treat to find your work. I just happened to see a new face online and saw that you had posted something. So I decided to check out your stuff. Its cool that you get inspiration from video games. I am an avid gamer and enjoy the music as well. I tend to do my film score stuff as backing to film, although I did one conscious piece as though it was a game score. I like this and want to listen to some of your other works. We film score guys should stick together and push each other to grow. One of my favorites here on MJ is Parichayaka. His stuff will just blow your mind. And he is the nicest human being. Totally cooperative and helpful. Wolfram Tones is another artist you should hear. He does a lot of ambient electronic stuff, but just top notch. There are a bunch of orchestral guys like Composer Clark who is an actual music professor. Those guys are really helpful with suggestions on composition and the like. In all, I would just welcome you to MJ and encourage you to listen and comment on the other artists in your genre. This will lead to having trusted friends that you can share your ideas with and they will in turn share with you. I have found this site to be a great learning and growing experience. Welcome!

builds up nicely
I like how your piece builds up and evolves... beautiful. The simple drums at the beginning (coming in around :37 surprised and delighted me). Wonderful work.. thanks for sharing.

I am an amateur composer. I enjoy orchestral music, and most of my songs are inspired by music from video games. My list of idols is endless, but my biggest inspirations are Nobuo Uematsu, who composes Final Fantasy, Koji Kondo, who composes pretty... [see more]
