Verse E E7 A A7 repeat
Chorus F#m B

Late one night walkin' down that road
Whistling a tune that I know
When up ahead I seen a light
Old farmhouse bedroom on the right
I see her standing through the curtain drawn
Dancing to the whistling of my song
I see her smiling and swaying too
I know she hears me by the way she moves

Farmers Daughter she don't know
How good she looks to me

What she's wearing it's hard to tell
but it ain't much, thats just as well
Young beauty I can see
not a day over seventeen

Farmers Daughter she don't know
How good she looks to me

I sit right down, enjoy the view
whistling louder so the girl can move
swaying side to side like a snake
she's doing things to make me quiver and shake

Farmers Daughter she don't know
How good she looks to me

knew that this was to good to last
slammin' door and a shotgun blast
her daddy's yelling right at me
eyes off my girl or your history

Yes that farmer oh he knows
How good she looks to me

So if your ever walking down that road
Look straight ahead, this I know
Farmers daughter ain't so dumb
loves watching daddy make them young boys run

Farmers Daughter yes she knows
How good she looks to me

oh yeah she knows...

Country Boogie
Enjoyed this. Like the way that the lyrics and subject of the song exactly matches the music. Amazing how many tracks you hear where this is not really the case. The voluptuous boogie captures the girl's appeal and the man's reaction brilliantly. Nice melody, to boot, and the repetition enhanced the sudden obsession of the viewer.

One slight criticism. The intro seemed a tad aimless to me and might have gone on a little too long? Left me wondering when the track was going to kick in? Perhaps this was meant as a contrast between the rather tedious journey before the moment he saw her and the sudden energy and focus when he does?

Still, good song, good music.

Enjoyed it.

Marc, Thanks so much for the comment, this is my first song I uploaded, and it is really cool to share a song with anyone other than my wife, daughters and dogs! ( needless to say they were not thrilled with the content of this song, a little creepy for a dad to be singing!) I could not agree more re. the intro, I wanted to cut it shorter, but am so new at the recording process I did not know how to do it. I also blew a few lyrics, most importantly towards the end, where it should say "look straight ahead" I kind of mumbled the words. No problem, now I am an official MACJAM guy, I am looking forward to uploading many more songs. By the way I enjoyed your tune as well. Cool to hear from folks all the way across the pond!

dig your performance!
I agree on the intro, but the song is cool
Fine , relaxed vocals!
It will take time to master the recordingside ( took me more than 30 years, lol)

Very nice guitar work.
The 2 guitars are working great together and create a really neat groove.
Very infectious (my new favourite word)
You had me strutting down the road next to you on on this one man.

Really great
Love this bluesy number. Great vocals. Reminiscent of "You Better Shop Around" spun in a blues direction. Tasty song. Awesome first post... Welcome to MJ!

Like it
It's got a sort of walking beat to it. Liked the little "snake effect" at 2.10. A really good start. Welcome to MJ, it's a great place. Cheers Mark

I don't like country
but I do like this as it is more bluegrass with a jaunty feel. Thanks.

Tony Joe White
Great lyrics and tune.... good job on the vocals. I can hear it a little more funky on the bottom with a vocal reminiscent of Tony Joe White...

Thanks everyone for the comments, been away for a while, lots of gigs very little writing. I am looking forward to getting back into it. Jockamo, I never heard of Tony Joe White, although I am familiar with some of the songs he wrote. I checked him out and enjoyed him.
