Loopy! I remember doing something like this in the early 80's with a reel to reel, a mic stand with the tape wrapped around it, and a bit of masking tape over the erase head of the recorder. I hope your experience was more streamlined. Very hypnotic. Check out my latest song called Sussex Carol

Technology yes, things are a bit easier these days. Masking tape over the erase head. Creative! Check out my latest song called Double Fouble

The loopmaster! Sounding really great, mate! The few imperfections in the 16th note runs actually sound really cool, they enhance the bubbling effect of the line. Really relaxing stuff, thanks for the tuneage! Check out my latest song called Ascent of the Houselickers

imperfections I need more practice.... And with this looping stuff you can undo only the first pass. After that you're committed to what you've played. Living on the cutting edge of performance. You also have to think rather hard. If you wait more than a couple of seconds to have the next idea, then the repeititions get boring. It's fun. Check out my latest song called Double Fouble

Sunday loop Does the Boss unit process the signal (effects of any kind)? This has a wonderful mellotron vibe. I know the classic mellotron attempts to emulate the acoustic instruments you excel with. So I apologize if it's a rather back-handed compliment. But as a student of late 60s and early 70s rock music, I love that sound and I'm really impressed by the means in which you've achieved it! You develop some wonderful phrases and harmonies in this! Well done! Check out my latest song called Mean Miss Teacher

mellotron Interesting. No, the Boss unit is completely straight. I put just a touch of Logic's Spreader plugin over the mix, because I had forgotten to record to a stereo track as I intended to. Other than that, it's just flutes. It does give a phasing effect to the flutes, doesn't it? Check out my latest song called Double Fouble

Sunday Loop I dig today's loop more than Thursday's loop. What a great tool you have there in that Boss. I may have to put it on my wish list. Thanks for posting. Check out my latest song called (SRC 2013) SECCHI A CME0054

flock of flutes There seems to be a slight avian feel to this, piping and chirping, beauty and melancholy flying and perching in my mind. Mesmerizing. It strikes me as an intriguing puzzle to write music scores that harmonize by looping back on themselves. I've been told that JS Bach wrote some of his organ music expecting it to be played such that the cathedral reverberations would return and add harmony/overlays, so you need that reverb to completely appreciate some of his works. ttfn, Drakonis Check out my latest song called Mars à Oublier - 0x01

Sunday Loop Mesmerizing. Even more so that you did it in one take. There was a conversation of melodic lines, most pleasurable. Check out my latest song called Blackwater (by Tokai)

Timeless quality I got a bit of a JS Bach vibe out of this too. The repetitive motifs are the single instrument layering on itself gives the piece a timeless quality. Enjoyed. Take care, Peter. Check out my latest song called Epilogue
