Over Blue.....

"Berbers of the Sahara, numbering close to 2 million. They have preserved their ancient alphabet, which is related to that used by ancient Libyans.

The Tuaregs traditionally maintained a feudal system consisting of a small number of noble families, a large majority of vassals, and a lower class of black non-Tuareg serfs, who performed the agricultural tasks.

The upper classes, organized in tribes, convoyed caravans and, until subdued by France, were feared as raiders. The fiercely independent Tuareg resented European hegemony in Africa, and they long resisted conquest.

Tuareg men go veiled, while the women are unveiled. Women enjoy respect and freedom, and descent and inheritance are through the female line. Though nominally Muslim, the people still retain many pre-Islamic rites and customs.

The traditional way of life for the Tuaregs (e.g., raiding neighboring tribes, leading caravans, and exacting taxes from trans-Sahara travelers) has changed."
According to a few obscure references to the Tuareg in the manuscripts of Tzaadi Suvau, from which this Legend surfaces, (as well as the stories Bestefar had told), there is a link between these people and the Delvar Nar. They are often referred to as "The Blue Men of The Desert."

Suvau provides no further details other than the word Tuareg, at least that I have yet found. Much more to go through.

Anyway, I find it fascinating that these particular muslims operate rather in the reverse of the traditional muslim; a matriarchal foundation which could also link them back to the Lemurians.

I just thought this might be some info you'd like to know......!!!

My Friend.......Omar

Sent this great track to me, ask if I'd like to do something to it, really glad I did start playing with it....

Wonderful track, the percussion is giving a 16th note feel, while the rest of the track is laid back playing quarter and half notes.
Always impressed by your guitar style . . .

Lovely mix
lots of space and lots of memories unleashed for me. We were invited to a Tuareg wedding a long time ago in Zagora on the edge of the Sahara in Morocco - the talk of blue men and such brought it all back. Liked to listen to the Berber story tellers in the square in Marrakesh - no written language, so they pass it on through story telling. Couldn't understand a word of course.
I really like this - you should be very nice to Omar! :)
Cheers from Oz,

Interesting info about the Berbers. Pretty nice laid back club vibe. Nice sound design on all the keys and synths including that strangely warped clav-like sound. All kinds of sounds emerging at different times make for an interesting listen, everything working together nicely, no overplaying.

ethereal funk
chord progression here. Grabed me right from the start. Really enjoyed the way the understated guitar comes in and just starts to subtly goove especially that repetitive lick with that distinctive strat sound panned to the right and the lower version to the left that mimics it. Youv'e done a nice job of separating everything in the mix. Everything is very ethereal but funky.

Possibly, one of the clearest mixes I have heard on this site. Slightly reminiscent of Little Axe. The guitar interludes are so beautiful and very well placed. Love the description. Atmospheric music, polished and with an incredible production value.

Clean and calm
Love the energy level here - laid back and yet full of little treasures that I don't want to relax into so much that I miss them.

Guitar is sweet. Great tune plus the bonus of the lesson.

Hipness round the oasis
I dig the open harmonies, the sparseness. The triphop techno clicks and hits have this almost tip-toe lightness, an icy fit to the cool heat of the tune. Understated sexiness. This really grew on me as it stole along. Nice track.

Thank you very much for stopping by, you hit the nail on the head
in your comment, I tried to keep it simple with some repetitiveness
it creates it's own signature, similar to a counter melody......
And in this case less is more, so I did less......
