Fear (demo mix)
Powerful track. The vulnerability translated by the vocal is in wonderful contrast to the heaviness of the backing track. A truly wonderful vocal melody. There's a little Shirley Manson in her vocal (and I love that)!

Fear
Really cool haunting music. The piano is excellent, ditto on the rhodes The vocal is fragile and tender, beautifully delivered. Give that guitar a lead break though. Needs a little variation/modulation in pacing IMHO and a lead break would add that. Sad there is no D/L button....;-(

thanks
Nina has a knack for coming up with very haunting melodies. which I really like, the song is far from finished. we just wanted to see/hear what sort of instruments would work with the arrangement. I agree that it needs some variation. the lead guitar suggestion is something worth considering. thanks again.

Terrific!
Nina is a truly engaging and talented singer (you obviously only work with the best Mannix!). She's written and performed a truly fine song here and I'm glad she's given superb assistance with a just perfect arrangement from you. If you guys have a CD available, let me know! Thanks so very much, Michael

you hit the nail on the head about Nina. unbelievable & still so young at 20 !!!. I appreciate the comment. but it's really mostly Nina doing the heavy lifting here. I'm just a hack here. :) thanks again

Thanks Mr. H
I know what you mean & the final mix is still very far away. the arrangement itself still needs a lot of work. dont want to waste this gem of a tune from Nina. thanks again. :)

Another beauty
Slightly darker sound scape, but me likes that. You get the perfect vocalist to do you work, she is a real find. Your work is always enlightening, very cool backing track, many excellent moments through out this. Well made sir, really enjoyed this.

all elements...
... meld together nicely. delicate vocals work well with the sparse guitars and beat. this song has a radio friendly quality about it. thanks for posting!
chinaman2 said 2949 days ago (May 30th, 2011)
thanks!
i made the arrangement as sparse as possible so as not to drown out Nina's vocals. appreciate the comment & the visit man.

My apologies to Nina.
I thought she and I sound a bit similar. How very beautiful she sings. (Twenty, you say? Wow!)
As usual, I'd love to see the lyrics. I like your choice of sounds and I think this will be exceptionally good. Thank you, both.

very nice...
your demo is a pleasure to listen too. The artwork above is thought provoking and gives me a chill as well. Only wish there were lyrics to read and follow along (lazy I guess). Maybe they are elsewhere, I will have to do some more exploring :) Thanks for sharing! patty
