Why? (With Bob Rodgers)

 Genre: Rock

This is a second collaboration with Bob Rodgers. After we finished 'Part Time Lover', Bob mentioned that he had another track I might be interested in - this time more of a full blown rocker! So he sent it over and I was very impressed with the guitar sounds and power rhythm, I set about adding some vocals and extra lead guitar (channelling my inner Jimmy Page!). I am not really a 'rock' singer with any projection but it was fun to add my mumbling vocals to this one...a bit out of my more low fi/indie comfort zone. Good to get a 'guitar conversation' going on at the end as I think we have kind of similar influences guitar wise.
Bob did a great job on production and mixing - cheers for another fun collaboration!

Bob Rodgers - lead guitar, all rhythm guitars, bass, drums, production/final mixing
Stevel - lead guitar,vocals

Why? (With Bob Rodgers)
Great rocker! I love the way the bass line propels the chorus. Great guitar sounds and tasty leads. I like the vocal. The days when you had to have a range like Plant or Tyler to sing rock are over. Your voice has a lot of resonance. The production and mix are soooooooo pro!

Simply excellent!
Bloody brilliant chaps. Classy stuff. The laid back vocals work really well in this setting.

Guitars sound great and a wonderfully atmospheric song and the outro is fantastic!

Pro quality...
Hi Stephen and Bob. Really enjoyed this. The subtle vocal work suits the slower verse arrangement. The guitar work is uniformly strong and a real highlight of the song. Pro quality mix/master to boot. Thanks, Peter.

Nice Production
Good guitar sounds coming out of this one. The background bass and drums was also very well done. Keep on gentlemen!

the guitars sound of one mind :-) super polished mix. Your vocal sounds anything but mumbled, thought it projected nicely. Great job.

Open and spacious...
Thanks for sharing this tune, the production on this works fine, the guitars trading bits makes this warmer.
Some nits? There is some pitch challenge on the vocal, not enough to make me stop listening :) maybe some eq changes to reduce the low mids on the vocal?

Guitars, guitars, guitars
.. man I loves those guitars, especially that arpeggiated reverbed bad boy in the early verses. Real 80's power rock stuff. Stevel your voice works brilliantly in the mix here and Bob's playing and production are perfect. Kinda puts me in mind of some of Clapton's late 80's work.

Lovely rocker chaps...
The guitars all sound fantastic as expected.. I might have brought the bass up a tad and added more effects/multi-tracking on the "hook" refrain section "yeah, you think I know better but I guess..". The crisp soloing is superb.

Nowt wrong with
mumbled vocals....most of the greats did just that.....trouble is so did some of the not so greats......but I don't think you would have to worry about that category .....

Some really nice guitar here...
Both the arpeggiated chords and some of the lead work sound relaxed, well phrased and self assured... The strong beginning bend reminded me just the merest tad of the opening to BOC's "Godzilla".... I like the drumming, including cymbal work... Wonderful trades at the end, lots of fun to listen to....
