Description
This is a nice progression I got from a Krishna Das recording (All One), and I continue to have fun with it in a large variety of settings and environments. This setting is about six tracks of electric and electric/acoustic dulcimers. I trust the piece will go on long into the future (I should probably call it a Project at this point!) Enjoy!

universal waltz
dancing on aire, each instrument seems to float on its own resonance. Although I would wish for a bit more lower frequency richness here, the thin nature of the recording did lend itself to painting a soft breezy thoughtful place. A great meditative musical moment.

thanks Eduard!
I really appreciate your kind thoughts on this. Very good insight about the balance of highs vs. lows --- others have mentioned this about some of my other all-dulcimer pieces. I'm gonna get an electric bass one of these days!

Hi Jerry......
This is another beautiful piece of music. Your playing and arrangement is wonderful and I loved every second of the piece.

I can't wait for your next piece.

Take care.

thanks Paul!
Your comments are very encouraging. I really put some real focus and serious WORK into this, so I hope it sounds a little less "jammy" than my usual fare.

Your sixty seconds chill is great -- I left a comment for you. I have a bunch of older things that I may edit for the one minute challenge.

light
Sparse-sounding but well-layered. The melodies interact each other very well; They're well woven. This is like an early morning epiphany.

Thanks!
I like simplicity more than anything. As far as melodic interaction goes, it seems to happen by accident of improvisation, though slowly I'm getting a little more focused about committing myself to definite melody or countermelody.

Beautiful
Love the interplay between the instruments and the delightful playing - you obviously know the instrument well. Much enjoyed.

I know it
is a delicate sound, but I sure would love it to have more volume. (I'm old and half deaf.) That is a beautiful touch you have on your instrument. So soothing. Thanks.

thanks
yes, delicate and subtle is the name of the game for me -- always has been. Sometimes I don't get my levels right -- I definitely need "professional help" with mastering and such.

Jerry
like the crispness of the dulcimer and how it developed the other instruments.

Its funny how many chicken-before-the-egg questions there are in the relationships between all my instruments -- its good that I don't "think" too hard about this :-)

Krishna Das
Does that refer to the note progression you use just curious or is the style, what ever it is its very soothing, your mix has a far way sound that is very appealing to me like a lullaby , I enjoyed this allot!

Krishna Das
made a whole CD of kirtan (chanting) with a fairly rock-oriented sound and most everything on the entire project was based around:

Am / / /|/ / / /|C / / /|/ / / /|F / / /|C / / /|G7 / / /|/ / / /:||

Mine is in G -- starts on Em. Thanks for the comments.

Do Not Change......
Or re-evaluate the accidental aspect of your music, this is where the freedom is, where you touch the higher then thou.....
It's OK to be calculated but it all in the heart beat, not in the head beat
if you get my drift.......

Peace.....

good advice!
but sometimes it is futile for a theory-geek like me to follow this advice! I'm working on it though!

Sweetly done
You've captured the delicate nature of the instrument. The striking sound, the resonance, the finger squeaks. Really well recorded. And the simple nature of the music is compelling and authentic. Marvelous gem.
