It's got sex and murder, so I marked it explicit. Only it wasn't really sex and it never ended in murder... so there's that.

This song is about half-done and I just wanted to get my ideas down. Maybe I'll finish it another day. But as for now I just felt like posting something. It's about the astronaut Lisa Nowack and her overnight drive from Houston to Orlando to murder her ex-lovers current lover. I have the lyrics you hear here, but I think I want to expand the story a bit. All murder is dumb, but there's something about driving that long and still considering going through with it. There wasn't a point where she thought, "this is really, really crazy. I'm wearing a diaper so I can avoid making any stops". I think that moment for me would be when I either A) bought the diapers for said purpose, or B) put them on. You can't put on a diaper with the intent of making a multistate murder drive and not realize how much you've overreacted. Unless your Lisa Nowack.

Sex charged astronaut murder
What else could I do?
Your hands were on my baby
Now my eyes are on you.

From Houston to Orlando
A 15 hour drive
BB Guns and diapers
And vengeance on my mind

Now I could kill anyone
But what good would that do
When I only have eyes for you?

She certainly
had a psychotic break. She probably was used to diapers as they are an option on space flights. I'm intrigued. I'll be watching for more lyrics. Thanks.

Good lyrics and tune. It works great unplugged but I could hear it rockin' out with a whole band.

before the dougherty gang
this was my favorite real life crime story. the sad fact is that no matter how we front it, we are all at some point adult diaper wearing bb gun packing clowns for love.

the verse has a different vibe from your usual stuff, more country maybe? anyway it's a cool departure and i'd keep it lo fi so you're not tempted to throw weezer at it. do you know a girl who could sing with you? because this is a perfect tune for an indie duet.

I just realized lastnight that the verse melody is like a double-time "Painted Eyelids" by Beck. So there's that. But I like that you pointed it out about how we're all close to being Lisa Nowack. At first you want to think someone as intelligent and accomplished as a NASA astronaut wouldn't go this berserk. But love is a helluva a drug (said like Rick James).

Love the indie duet idea. I'll need to complete the story/angle and I may steal that idea from you.

Great song, the story is definitely intriguing. i like how you kept it brief and punchy. The guitar strum on final "what good would that do" is super-hooky.
I listened to the song about 10 times. This version totally stands up on its own. The lyrics are perfect.

really cool track
welcome to lo-fi ;)
love the progression and your vox are appropriately raw for the subject matter - which by the way is a stroke of genius. What a crazy story. would love to hear a full band dirty guitars ASH style treatment too, but this is quality stuff as is. Great post
