Eyjafjallajökull - Chapter 4

 Genre: Film Scoring

Get Flash to see this player.

This is the music to the fourth chapter of the documentary about the volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland last year.
The documentary was released on DVD in Iceland this spring and can be found here:

The chapter uploaded here was written for a segment of the documentary entitled photos - which was basically a slideshow of quite stunning photos of the eruption.

This piece is 9 and a half minutes long, so I hope you guys aren't in a hurry :)

Oh, and here is a trailer for the documentary if you're interested.

I bought this DVD right away, both for your music, and for what I was hoping was a set of fun volcano videos... And my wife and I were completely entranced, and the DVD and music completely surpassed ANY expectations we had.

Your music had a few themes that were simple and strong, and you found ways to re-architect them in different sections so they were still recognizable, but ingeniously re-orchestrated to be soft, or explosively harsh.

The DVD is PAL format (not USA-NTSC) but it plays beautifully on our newer DVD-player, and the video sequences and overall editing are far more exciting and jaw-droppingly entrancing than any professional volcano-series I've ever seen.

The power and majesty of the videos and photos coupled with your music make this a stunningly beautiful treasure.

I got to show this to a few people lately, all of whom were equally impressed.

If there is going to be something as awesome and powerful as mother nature unleashing her volcanic fury, your music is exactly what should be coupled with it!

Go Einar!

Very moving and stunning, like fire and rocks. I am intrigued by how you created such movement without actual drum beats...using strings and the bell-like sound. Powerful piece, evoking emotion...a great experience, thanks!
