Description
I'd like to call this Gypsy Funk, I'm not exactly sure what genre to classify it as, it's kind of a mix of inspirations.

trippin with godzilla
love the introductory koto, which gives no hints as to what funky grooves are about to unfold. Playful and enjoyable. Was the koto a recorded sequence, or played on a synth? Very realistic sounding.

Thanks again :)
This track was made sittin around with nothin to do, inspired by a DJ set I saw at the Shambhala music festival. It was all done with MIDI instruments except for a drum loop I cut up and used to give it a little more human feel.

nice
love how you cut up the drums on this. did you do it with software or the laborious by hand route? so nice when the bass kicks in. cool when you switch to that more format sound at 1:59. really great job with this mix and a lovely track.

Thanks
I used a plug in called Artillery by Sugar Bytes to do the Drum glitches, it is MIDI controlled effects and I absolutely love 'em. They are great for all kinds of things, I also used it for the switch on bass you mentioned and to do the rising filter on the bass as well.

really?
Artillery? I have a version of it that I got off CM magazine, but never really dove into it. I usually use Automaton, Livecut or Buffer Override for glitches. I will have to play around with it some more. pretty used to the way I do it, but there is always such heavy editing involved; MIDI controlled would be nice. thanks for the quick reply.
