Alive in Newark set 1 part 1

 Genre: Rock

Get Flash to see this player.

This is the first half of our first of two sets at Kilkenny Alehouse in Newark NJ. Recorded on Zoom H2 in the house with no overdubs or added effects. The wet vocal mic provided the reverb - perhaps more than I would have liked. There was no sound man at the board at this place. EQ'd in GarageBand and mastered in Audacity.
The usual - guitar - bass - drums lineup.

Alive in Newark set 1 part 1
I'm writing this as I listen and trying to do some drawing(work) as I take this concert in so I might have to stop and start. This is way to cool hearing this live like this ... feels like I'm there. Man you guys warm up fast and really get cookin'... love your guitar tone. Lots of sound for a three piece ... no holes unfilled yet excellent dynamics the way you build then drop back down. Are you guys just jammin' or is this rehearsed ... 'cause you guys go off into la la land so it sounds improvised. I'm going to post this now even though I'm at the 10:20 mark where the vocals come in and you off into another direction. Will continue listening. Excellent stuff!

Thanks for taking the time to listen
We pick a couple of songs to include in a set and improvise the bridges between songs. Basically - if there are vocals it's rehearsed - if not - it's spontaneous. I use a Boomerang Phrase Sampler so I can play more than one thing at a time to broaden the trio sound at times like the bridge that starts at around 5:00.

I like this....
The live recording is cool. Nothing like a live performance to give a sense of the talent in the band. Good one.
