This is part of a score I wrote a couple of weeks ago for a short film called "Gunna" (directed by Ottó Gunnarsson).

It's a sort of romantic comedy which tells the story of a farmer whose solitary, routine-based life is changed when a young Thai woman's car breaks down close to his farm.

The film, which was the lead actor's (Óli Jón Gunnarsson) graduation project from The Icelandic Film School, ended up winning the grand prize at the graduation ceremony - making this the second film I've score to win that particular prize.

Enjoy :)

Beautiful theme! Lovely touch on the keys and the interplay between the keys and the strings is full of warmth. Congratulations on the success you have had with it - well deserved I'd say! Much enjoyed.

... a pleasure to hear your music. What I admire most about this, besides the melody, is the instrumentation. I really dig your choice of instruments!

Fabulous work, as usual. You captured the spirit of the described story very well! Congrats on a, yet another, successful project buddy :)

Even without
your description this made me feel it was about longing fulfilled to become joy. Einar, you deserve credit for perfectly complementing a story with this gentle and transcendent music. I'm happy for the film maker as well.

Immediately pulls you in. Adds a very light, heartfelt and thoughtful feel. And the ending is very satisfying. Great that it won the awards, no it's time you get some awards for the soundtrack:)
btw - I visited Iceland just a two weeks ago and played in a concert at Harpa - had an absolutely wonderful experience there again!

Congratulations to both you and Otto. If his film is half as good as the music you wrote for it, then it must be amazing!

the innocent beautiful theme of this track. I Can imagine the short film had a heart warming story if this track is anything to go by.

Congrats on your second win you deserve it :)

One of the things I appreciate...
...in your music, Einar, is the way you are able to get things sounding 'cinematic' that are also melodic...I can see someone slowly waltzing to this in a kitchen or on a hillside...and I can imagine someone singing lyrics over it...

And your instincts are strong enough that your stuff sounds very rich, very full while at the same time being uncluttered...Never a sense that a track is stuffed full o' sound for its own sake....

Quite beautiful...
