The Troubadour Flies Again

Too many choices or too much wine
Poor guy can't make up his mind.
He's miserable and he knows why.
He can't run. He can't hide.

Time to move. Rub your chin.
No more thinking. Put down the pen.
The troubadour flies again.

A sticky tavern. A cup of mead.
A chorus of love and victories.
A warm bosom. A pretty face.
Charming words and Queen Anne's Lace.

Catch your breath. Wait for the sun.
If you weren't restless you could have time to love someone.
The troubadour flies again.

Heart of gravel that's trampled on,
will push away those kicking stones.
Sing with passion, build a crowd.
Make women cry and make men proud.

Should you stay? Another show.
Somebody loves you. It's time to go.
The troubadour flies again.

Mud on your shoes, wind in your face
Somebody's crying, pick up the pace
The troubadour flies again.

The Troubadour
Simple but energetic backing - the various instruments you use just keep building the tune to great effect. Your voice is great - full of warmth and fervour. You're a talented man, Miche! Much enjoyed.

The Troubadour Flies Again
I like the bluesy inflections in the vocal. The backer has some strong folk/traditional elements, and the lyric is about a renaissance troubadour. Yet somehow it all works great! Enjoyed.

It is interesting that there a few contradictory elements... I just went with it though. : ) Thank you Dave.

I'll tell you what...
Indeed it is a country song. The original version (solo acoustic) is a ho-down- bluegrass sort a thing (fast country). ;)

Great tune.....
Just 2/bars too many "heart of gravel" section it compromise's the
depth of the groove and the story....
Understanding your wanting to in-play that feel because that's what it
is but you where standing on top of the mountain, then you bring it back to the swamp.....My View Only...I'm sure....
Just I would have keep it on the Mountain, strong place up there...
Top shelf project... Must say it's a cool track..... :-)

A perspective I hadn't considered. I've only begun writing with a consistency that might aid in my doing a better job as a lyricist. We'll see. :) Thank you stranger. From what I've heard you are indeed a true poet in both guitar and voice.

Unique ...
I haven't heard anything quite like this...ever. The rhythmic elements are so intriguing and keep my interest throughout. I don't know if these are loops or note, but your vocal certainly is not, and it keeps pace with everything else without losing a beat. Quite a remarkable vocal performance. And, like the troubadour of your narrative, the pace of this number calls out for traveling...away...the words imitated by the music...and vice versa. Excellent production.
