Description
A psalm. Written this year about someone who needed imortalizing in song, this is well overdue I think. I think few who know this person would disagree with my obsevations. Amen.

Lyrics

The Japanese admiral who lives by the sea. Written 2012

one

1 [a] beware of the Japanese admiral who lives by the sea.
[b] he will take you in with his pseudo charm, and man about town persona.
[c] do not let this friendly toby jug image, fool you for a moment.
[d] or upon my soul, you will soon live to regret it.

2 [a] within this word of vanilla jazz, he will perform his acts of ill planned deception.
[b] using who, or whatever he can, for the furtherance of personal gain, he will radiate such an ingratiating demeanor.
[c] a stark relationship with the truth, is not to some unknown, and others will say there is no smoke without fire.
[d] Exposed in a falsehood, he will wriggle and squirm, - and try to palm it off as some unfortunate misadministration .

two

3 [a] there will still be those, who will continue to be satellites, in this pretentious circle.
of mediocrity.
[b] but despite predictable and unimaginative repertoires, and less than desirable engagements, their loyalty is unswerving to their leader who exhibits such toddler like deviousness.
[c] spare us this ordeal, oh spare us this ordeal, and deliver us from this porker.
[d] if you take heed and listen to this advice, believe you me it may just save your bacon.

Amen

Haha!
"As I was walking down the road one day, I saw a house on fire.
There was a man, in an upper story window, screamin' and shoutin'
At the crowd what 'ad gathered there below,
For he was sore afraid..."

I've no idea of whom you write, but it's brilliant and oi'll give it foive too. [God, I feel ancient today!]

That's it - I see you have the idea, as someone once said - you could put a restaurant menu to this music.

Thanks for listening.

i have just been kicked off a train for daring to bring my bike with me during the olympics. i was going one stop Sandwich to Deal....one stop....80 miles from the fucking bollocks olympic stadium. blanket stupidity. the japanese admiral runs network south east.
i just walked in the door having ranted at the guy who sold me the ticket....and the first thing i did was listen to this. cheered me up.....and i have put the kalashnikov back in its case.....just for now.
excellent post john......keep exposing the dirt and holding the mirror up.

Fabulous lyrics ... don't know who you're talking about but they are well crafted and your vocals are superb!! Love the harmonies ... sounds recorded in an empty cathedral ... fantastic!

Thanks Gadzooks
The only reason I don't identify my subject is because I cannot prove what I am saying. It is based on a personal experience which unfortunately for the 'admiral', got rumbled. It was one of those wonderful moments.

Hello Jarvoid
I also enjoyed Hackney Bloke's rant and would support him enormously. Glad you liked this quirky little oddity !! I may not get many listeners but the one's I do get are sheer quality and I appreciate them all. Thank you for visiting.

In answer to your question it is an Anglican chant.... and I used to sing them when I was a choirboy. I was always fascinated by them though I must add that the ones we sang back then were of a more religious nature.

Thank you for commenting.

John's Confession
I do not understand this piece at all. I guess it is a deeply British class thing. The thing is amazing, never heard such a combination, churchy weirdness Thank you!

This form of music would as a rule be of a religious nature so making it secular always amuses me also I like the way that the music has to bend to the words where as this is usually the other way around. You are right though it is most definately church music and is a close relative of the hymn.
