In C# Minor, 'cause it fit somehow. This was originally based on a single phrase that I extracted from something else I was working on. It didn't fit in the original tune, but sounded vaguely oriental and when I followed where it led the original version of this tune came out. Thanks to VicDiesel for making suggestions after I uploaded an earlier version of this track; I think after following some of those this version sounds much better. A comment by Paul F. Page also made me alter it again to make the chord playing less repetitive. I'm happy with the tune now, hope others enjoy it and thank you to those who made suggestions after hearing the last two versions.

A Meeting of East and West
A combination of clarity, simplicity, and inspiration - as these are the first sounds I've listened to this morning and the day already appears little more welcoming. Thanks for dl!

East and West
This is a nicely done and interesting piano piece. I like that you didn't follow the conventional piano forms so overused today. While I din't hear the original versions, I would say you took the advice given well, to create a thoughtful, contemplative piece. Enjoyed -

East and West
I enjoyed this piece again, Fire Angel. Great to see that advice from your fellow MJ'ers has been useful to you. The repeated motifs get inside your head. Thanks, Peter.

Like how you bang out those notes they start to swirl after awhile, reminded me of Munk in a way I do hear an easter flair in it

Nice chord progressions
very unusual progressions, but it works really well. Quite haunting.

enchanting. Sounds romantic. I do hear the oriental lilt. I could see fallen cherry blossoms stirred by a young woman's hand in a pool of otherwise still and pure water. Love it. Thanks.

I like the solo voice and the spaciousness in this. Has a fragile, glass-like quality that's compelling.Glad I stopped by.

East and West
I hear the eastern influence, but what I think of first is George Winston's seasons. I like the way you keep the piece open and spacious. Great tone of the piano as well. Enjoyed!

Love this!
Very nice ruminant piece. Very well played and composed. Has a little asian (perhaps pentatonic) touch which is quite intriguing...

Definitely different.
The specific changes that derive from your suggestions are: I tried a number of different piano sounds from those I have available and the current one sounds much better than my previous choices. I also lowered the velocity of many of the chords and some of the notes, as the "playing" wasn't in keeping with the mood. You were right, it does sound better that way. Paul F Page suggested changing some of the chord patterns to make them less repetitive, so I did that too. Once again I agree that it's an improvement. Lessons learned from fellow MacJammers are little treasures to improve my music.
