After a couple comments that didn't like the hard left channel pan, I remixed in mono and amplified it some, hope this sounds better...

I started writing this song in the 70's, there were three parts that were separate and now they're together. I've tried to record the song several times, but never had the tools/inspiration/chance. I did record it once for my wife, with a few stops and goes and tried to splice it together, but this came out better. One reason I wanted to record this is to compare the sound of my (now year in my care) Guild Custom Shop Peregrin Quilt Maple top with light gauge electric strings. There will be a version II that will be a set of acoustic strings for comparison. I'd like to post a III with my Guild F4CE playing a second part (yet to be "written") and maybe IV with bass and electric - we'll see.

The song structure was put together on-the-fly and in the edit. There are three basic parts and a couple or three transitions, and often I play each three times (or so I thought). I counted the parts, and including the parts where the end of one part becomes the beginning of the transition, I've counted the following structure (let me know if you dis/agree):
2/3/2/4/4/2/4/4/3. Since some of the parts are lengthy, and some of the transitions are short, just a couple or three chords - I think the structure works to keep it interesting and moving - I look forward to your comments.

So far this was recorded directly into my MacBook Pro Input with just a 1/4" cable and then a 1/4" to Mini Stereo adapter. I used Audacity for the very low monitor latency and I wanted absolutely no Effects. The Guitar controls were: Volume and Tone sliders at 10. I need to check the string gauges, these are the same strings that were on it when I bought it (I know, it was because I wanted to record with light electrics to compare).

Email me if you feel compelled to collaborate, otherwise I will keep adding layers and see where it goes. Special thanks to my Awesome Wife for inspiration and last year's Anniversarys/Birthday/Hanukkah/Christmas Present.

I didnt get to to hear the other version
But like your approach to the project. Also like the use of the guitars and how you let them use their own voice to convey the song. If you hear any sax lines in this let me know. Or any other song....

I really like the concept of the three parts - and the ending is beautiful. It begs for a lead instrument, and I think sax would work like awigze said. Just noodling with my guitar against your chords I think careful and controlled improvisation could sound great. The key changes are fun and could bring out an interesting free flowing melody that would have to be disciplined enough to pull the 3 parts together. Good luck!

I love
Guild Guitars.
I learned how to play on an old Guild acoustic guitar from the early '60's. I still record with it!
Your playing sounds fantastic, I enjoyed all three parts.

Thanks for listening...
I am trying to get out of a rut, and adding bass to it. I was just here to download a copy, since the computer the original one was on crashed. Check out my Google Site to see a few more of my Guilds - the picture on this site was my first three Guilds I collected (early '70's and 80's).

Still enjoying your music - hope to hear more.
