Arizona Washout

Description
I wrote this after my first trip to Arizona to visit my good friend, now my wife. The term washout, a dry gully that sometimes will flash flood, inspired me.
Just me on both guitars, singing and drumtrack.

Lyrics
Sands blown yellow through colored air
The browness of her is of what I’m aware
She’s a cactus abloom in this sand blown sea
All love is mine, she belongs to me
Lost is the image what’s yesteday to be
Her fingers give feelings like a soft desert breeze
I’m bound to her heart, never set free
The love she uncovers spreads like this sand, under me
So hold on to me girl, for your sake and mine
The days we’ve spent together seem such a long time
Let the sun sink, the moon shine bright
Because of our love babe, I’ll need you, tonight
The sound of the desert, seldom ever heard
Just this powerful silence, like the wings of a bird
Are just as important, as the things I can’t say
My feelings so strong just can’t find, the way
So this week has gone by like the lines on a road
Your image prays on my mind girl, I need you to hold
This land full of sun-shine, never felt so cold
The last wash in Arizona babe, I need to go, home
So hold on to me girl, for your sake and mine
The days we’ve spent together seem such a long time
Let the sun sink, the moon shine bright
Because of our love babe, I’ll need you, tonight

Nice tones to the guitars - the two tracks complement each other well. Light, soft vocal suits the lyrics. Good one, James!

You get a nice full sound from the two guitars. To my ear your voice sounds a little like Philip18 who commented above. That's a compliment.

Some tasty guitar work, James. I like your subtle vocal work, too. It reminded me of Tom Rush. Nice song. Welcome back! Thanks, Peter.
