Description
I think about birds a lot. They inspired this piece using mostly wind instruments.

Dance of the cranes
I suppose cranes do have a sort of hesitant, watchful walk as they move around. Nice piece of music - I like the sounds of the instruments you're using and the structure of the melody. Much enjoyed!

Cranes
Yes! I was aiming for a piece that treated each instrument as an act by a bird, as if they were having a conversation. 8 parts Western romantic music, 2 parts Bird.

Dance of the Cranes
I can almost see them walking gingerly through the marsh. Pausing, doing that head-neck adjustment thing that they do, trying to spy a darting minnow. What a wonderful passage. It would be great to be someday part of a larger work. Great stuff.

Craning
The music met the movement. Nicely done.
