Hello MacJams, you fantastic site! Imagine being here for 10 years. Feels like not so long ago stepping in here the first time.

I remember coming here because of a note in MacWorld, which stated that MJ was a place where musicians could store their music. As I wanted a place to backup my recordings I came here. To my delight I found it to so much more than a storing place.

I will celebrate the ten years with the song O store Gud. A Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Gustav Boberg in Sweden in 1885. It was translated into English by British missionary Stuart K. Hine, who also added two original verses of his own composition.

As I understand it, the song was forgotten in Sweden for many years, while it got spred around the world. Later it got ”imported” from US and hence rediscovered here.

An inspiration for the fashion I play it here, has been an old recording by The Osborn Brothers. I feel that the americana style makes the song well.

Happy birthday all MacJammers!

What a joy to listen to soothing music performed so effortlessly. The recording quality, the poise, perfection - and the choice of song - make this another great post.

Glad you're still posting here, it's a small but very heartfelt community which is quite rare these days.

I don't know how...
I managed to miss this, but apparently I did...

That characteristic organic Curry pace and swing, and that warm guitar tone...

I still remember discovering your music, I think in the first week that I was at MacJams...I still get perked up seeing a new piece...

Guitar player since 11. Can't play other instruments than acoustic guitars, well maybe aside from instruments that are tuned the same way; like ukulele or bass guitar. In younger years I took inspiration from classical guitar, American acoustic... [see more]
