Das Amerikus Drakonus - Concerto #5 for Harpsichord/Strings (Wip)

 Genre: Classical

Get Flash to see this player.

Been working on this one for awhile now, a collab piano/harpsichord/string concerto (#5). It is definitely Bach Brandenburgish in parts and all me in other parts. The second movement is a slow cello ride of peace after the furious piano and harpsichord chaos in the first. Me on Piano/Strings/Composition/Production and German Composer Volker Freidel on Harpsichords. This is just in work in progress stages but wanted to see what people think. Cheers enjoy.

This is so cool, Chris. Beautifully interwoven instrumentation performed to the T. As they say "you've got talent!" Indeed... And your talent is above my pay grade so I can only listen, wonder, and thoroughly enjoy. Thanks...

Thanks my friend :) That is great to hear, happy you like the sound of it at least. Isn't that harpsichord part by Volker amazing?

The manic nature of the harpsichord is tamed a little by the slow moving strings but it's a nicely balanced taming.

It feels like it will be going somewhere else after the harpischord drops out so it will be interesting to see where it does go.

Funny you should say that.
I've been working on a piano counterpoint for the 2nd movement in my head for awhile now and just improvised it today, it symbolizes the sleeping dragon awakening and replying to the harpsichord. The thing is finally finished I think. Great call Dick!
