Stairway to Heaven (LZ Cover)

I started writing a song and had a hard time coming up with lyrics. While experimenting I noticed that the lyrics to "Stairway to Heaven" fit beautifully. The music is very much inspired by the lyrics, but I didn't use any of the original music in my version. It is a complete rewrite.

Love the approach
never thought of a remake to Stairway to Heaven like this but it works really well. This is definitely a tune that needs to be re-visited. I remember when I began to play guitar these were some of the riffs I was dedicated to learn. Thanks for your vision and I'm glad you decided to post this.

Really interesting
Just amazing to hear a song that is so familiar it's practically part of my DNA sound so utterly different and "Californian", ( not even sure what I mean there!!!). A fine re interpretation. Much enjoyed. Cheers Mark

This is not a cover
it's far more than that.

I've never been a fan of covers unless they really take the song in a different direction.

This doesn't just take it in a different direction but re-imagines it completely!

Very nicely done.

Great to hear that a well worn stairway can magically take you to a different place than expected. Wonderful work, Steve. Lovely vocal work. Really impressive arrangement, too. So well realised. This sounds like a labour of love. Thanks!

This is such a fresh take, and in a prog direction (yay). Great vocals/harmonies and soloing. This is a really full and careful arrangement. The more I listen the more I can hear that is going on in the sound field. I know now that this is going to take at least another listen. As the song continues to unfold there is only one word for it - outstanding. OK maybe two: inspired. Downloaded with appreciation!
