Lyrics
Take me to your leader I said
As I got inside
Tell me your story she said
And I will give you a ride
Do you see what I see
Oh we came around the bend
Looks like the future I said
The future my friend

She took me all the way home
She took me all the way home

Didn't know it at the time
Didn't know it at the time didn’t
Know it at the time
Through a series situations
Not unlike a dream
Let's start a fire
Let’s say what we mean
Through a series situations
Not unlike a dream
Let's start a fire
Let’s say what we mean

She took me all the way home
She took me all the way home

She took me all the way home
She took me all the way home

The radio went silent
And the sun disappeared
Something happened
The radio was silent
It’s the open road and the rear view mirror
Didn't know it
Didn't know it at the time
Tell me your story she said
And i will give you a ride
Do you see what I see
As we came around the bend
I see the future is said
I see the future my friend
Do you see what I see
I said

What's Around the Bend
Texturing has been a big part of your recent recordings and your layering here is simply wonderful. Some of it's clear and some of it's murky (that goes for the singing as well as the sonics), but that ambiguity between light and dark is what makes it intriguing. It feels like the actual workings of the mind as it sorts through chaos to find meaning. (Or something like that.)

When I say recent recordings what I mean is the last few years : )

I like the implications of the radio going silent. And the trade-off of a ride for a story.

Reverse is Best
This has strong production. The production ideas are presented in support of a fab lyric. Great work on this one.

The opening is musically different in style from much of your work, Tim, but as soon as you sing "Do you see what I see" it all makes sense. Lovely sense of space and light in the arrangement and the mix. BGVs just float in the mix. Impressive all round. Thanks.

Interesting lyrics seem to be the driver here - the production suits what you're trying to say. Thoughtful and interesting arrangement. It all works well.

Really like this
Dude I really love your music. It's so well produced and voiced, and quirky without losing accessibility. And your stuff is so personal too. It all feels like a diary entry. I dig it, obviously.
The solo here is really nice.

Sheeeeeee.......'s leaving home. i liked that bit right away.....reminded me of the beatles' song.
the vocals are muddy tim....like you swallowed 'Cher' and now you're trying to expel her from your thorax (as anyone would).
i also wonder whether some of your tracks might work better with a female vocalist. i know they're thin on the ground here.
production is excellent as usual....maybe too much percussion for me.....particularly round the half-way mark. i love the distorted/phaser guitars going on. elements of 'tubular bells' drifted in and out.....which i really liked.
anyways....less Cher....more Tim.

I see what you see
the backwards guitar really work it in, when you get to she took me, its a great release, this to me is very psychedelic, like the effected vox, like how you arranged the bass to weave in and out very cool like this allot great song!

Do you see what I see! I thought that line was going to be cheesy, but it was beautiful.

The quirky vocal style took me a few lines to get into, but I think I get it, and I grew to like it quite a bit. I like the chorus a lot, though the percussion in that section is too loud for me. I will need to listen again. There's more here to take in. Fascinating piece. Inspired!

Long Time...
I've been away for way too long. I forgot how much I missed listening to your productions. This is another great example. Great layering over great songwriting.
