Description
A repost of a slightly reworked tune with a new ending. Definitely the most straightforward thing in my modest collection here at MJ. I decided I wanted to keep it, so I'm posting it again (that's all I have time for these days anyway).

the kloo is back
enervating, evil, smashy....everything you'd expect to come from a land ruled by a trump.
the perfect backdrop to the view from my bed as i look out at an identical picture (with houses of course....as i am in a suburban sea-side town). but just as blowy and bleak and rainy....without trump of course :)
sorry you're so busy. throw it on the fire and take the car down town.

ruled by a trump
Well, to co-opt a turn of phrase, I am in Trumplandia, but not of it. How long that will last is anyone's guess --- I'm impressionable. Anyway, thanks, Julian, for coming by to comment on my humble offering.

Hi KC
Glad you like it. I was just fooling around one summer day when it was too hot to be serious. I ended up liking it, even though it's as simple as can be.

Hi Graham
Ha. Well, there are worse things that might get stuck in your head. That happens to me all the time. I just put on ambient music at work. It washes away all the annoying TV commercial jingles. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment.

Hey, Vic
The weather conditions were right that day for some decent sustain. Well, one thing for sure -- I won't be accused of writing in too many notes. Thanks.

Another great tune! I find that the drum tracks you produce have a wonderful complexity that is both driving and varied. It strikes me as one of your signature elements of a Kloo piece. Solos also sound spot on, as do synths in the mid song break. Well, all the way through actually. Basically, very well put together end to end.

Straightforward - no, but I suppose compared to the prog tunes you have produced I would agree. Nice one! downloaded with thanks.

Hi Doug
OK, let's talk drums. A lot of the music I've been listening to recently (prog metal djenty stuff) has drums mixed in very high, even on the slower, quieter parts. I finally took notice and decided that maybe I should do that, too. I was remixing Sway and a couple of other old tracks, cranked up the drums, and realized that most of my drum tracks are overly busy, although lost down on the rest of the muck before I notched the volume up. So, I've been on a mission to produce cleaner, more pronounced drum tracks, where you can actually hear the kick as a distinct thump, and can actually hear the high hat, which is one of the weaker aspect of the drum synths in Logic. I don't know if I succeeded here, but it's better. Thanks for noticing. This drum track is as simple as can be, so maybe that's the way to go. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to do decent bass guitar.

Hi, Steve
The GT-8 was cooperating with me on this particular day, so I got a pretty good sound out of the Ibanez. Thanks for the kind words.

Solid production - straight up
as you say. Great bass intrusion at 1:45 - sets up the longer lines that follow. Sweet guitar tone and touch. Ditto on the drum track being righteous.

Hi, Kevin
Thanks for coming by and commenting. See response back to Doug regarding the drums. Good to be getting some feedback on that, since the mix leans experimental for me (when doesn't it?) with louder, cleaner drums. That might just be the ticket.

This is entertaining. I like the tone of the guitar and the lines it's playing. Good solid drums. Interesting arrangement. It all works, Les.

Love the artwork. Love the "stadium rock" drive of the drums and the whole vibe of the low end, in general. The contrast between the crunchy granola guitar and the soaring, fluid lead lines is excellent. Fine repost. Thanks. Take care.

Low end. I had (have) trouble getting the low end balanced and properly EQed. I hear four different versions when I listen here --- sounds OK, or not enough low end, or too much low end, depending on whether I listen through headphones (two sets), computer speakers, or my monitors. I have no idea what anyone else is hearing. Thanks for the comment.

I didn't
even know this was posted. But then it was earlier in the year and I wasn't around much. As Graham stated, it's such a catchy pop tune that I was just humming along. But seriously, it does stick with you, but for the best reasons.
