Description
Life goes by too fast. However much time we get, it's not enough. And the most precious moments are the most fleeting. Never let them go.

This song was complete, with a different title and different lyrics. While driving to work one day, I suddenly realized what it was really about. So I pulled over and put my heart on paper.

Working with a friend now to put a voice to the words and melody but I wanted to share the work in progress.

Glad to be back on MJ.

Lyrics
You Have My Heart

There was a time
Little child of mine
When I held you in my hands

We brought you home
And what I couldn’t have known
Is what I’d come to understand

Things you can’t remember
For me, just happened yesterday

I realize
With these tears in my eyes
That you’re growing up too fast

You need to know
That when I let you go
I’m still living in the past

I see you now
Can I stop the clock?

So big somehow
I want to stop the clock

Once so small
I can’t stop the clock

Standing tall
I won’t stop the clock

Memories, long burning embers
Promise never to fade away
