One afternoon we came across an abandoned amphitheater in the desert, set up and recorded this suite…all in a dream.
Thanks for all who listened and commented on the first version of this but some elements still needed work. This one is a better.

Here's a video of this set to a couple of great ice dancers. The music is once more a substantially improved version.

Beautiful imagery. Creates a feeling of joy, calm and wonder. Very enjoyable.

Constantly moving, like an extended moment in time lasting as long as the string section will play. I imagined the silence in the desert after the orchestra stops playing. Must be something!

Desert v. Open Seas
Somehow you capture both, Charlie. The insistent ostinato keeps this rolling along nicely and at a pleasant, relaxed tempo. My own preference would be for a tonal shift somewhere along the journey and then a return to original key center, but it is a relaxing and satisfying voyage just as it is. You always capture a specific atmosphere and play it out with decision and purpose. So nice to hear a new post from you, Charlie.

This is a better mix, but both were very enjoyable to listen to. Good job! I get a bit melancholy of it (hm, doesn't sound idiomatic?), as if those uplifting things were in the past. Maybe I am just getting old, but in general I like that melancholy feeling :-)

Thanks and take care,

I often
find myself drawn to music that has the feel of a particular place, time and customs.
This certainly evokes a Copland approach to the American West.
I know what you mean about a melancholy for what was or at least at least what we imagine was.
Thanks my friend,

Have Horn, Will Travel
Big sound. Could easily be the soundtrack of a Western (the part where it all comes good!)

Your card title is cool as is this piece. Nice counterpoint with strings and horns. Very cinematic.

Glad you enjoyed...
the title card as well. It's a tribut to an old show called Have GUN will Travel.
