Lyrics
LOOKING-GLASS WAR

As soon as you are born the clock starts ticking
No matter how many times you stare at your reflection
You never stop analyzing your ongoing aging features
The battle with time is one you can’t win
Sooner or later it will do you in
The best you can hope for is
A momentary victory
Don’t be sad
There’s probably nothing to it
Don’t get mad
Everybody has to go through it
Whether you’re a general
or whether a grunt
you have to find meaning in the struggle
because everyone is a casualty
in the looking-glass war

Entertaining lyrics wrapped in your characteristic riffs and guitar tones. A bit of fun!

I find the best way
is to not wear my glasses when I look in the mirror.

Really nice guitar work, especially in that middle section.

Cheers

Dick

Great Lyrics
Your best set of lyrics so far Warren! You are finding meaning in the only way I know - by creating something. Oops time to go to Physical Therapy but my knees are so bad I can't make it to the car, hahaha!

What goes first
So far the body is giving out before the brain. At least I think that's the case : )

The good and the bad
Thanks for the positive comment. I regularly turn out crap, too, but I keep trying not to post that material : )

Terminal situation
Just looking for joy (and meaning) in the current moment. Besides, you know, who wants to live forever?

Profound
And strangely cheerful. I like the instrumental section, especially when it returns after the pause. I'm not sure what it suggests, but it works.

Making sense of it
The opening and closing get a few guitar licks in. That middle passage was an attempt to strip things down and let a bass and chorded rhythm guitar carry the story. Usually, I'm trying to add more layers; this was an effort to declutter. Sometimes you just go with sound making sense.

I've found that if you squint when you look in the mirror, it makes you look younger.

Except when all of that squirting results in adding more crows feet around your eyes!

Momentary
I think one's life is not judged at the end but continuously. The conclusion is a foregone one, so why bother fixating on it? And aren't you and I having a more or less continuous blast?

Always a pleasure hearing you in action.
