At Last
I've been struggling to get this up here forever. It's big, but not more than 30 megs at 320. Anyway, this version is by me and David McNair. David is the percussionist and I am the everything else. It was such a big project I had to do it in 3 parts, then mix them together on Mixbus. I like it. The painting is by my grandmother, Margaret Corden.

Thanks, Chris
I bought all the early Genesis LPs as they came out, so there will be an influence.

Inevitable
If you start with a piano arpeggio. I think it's more Pink Floyd than Oldfield. Thanks for listening, Dick.

Yep
It's mostly guitar and drums, ie me and David. Tom usually mixes, but this is my version, as I wanted to play around with Mixbus. You've heard this before, KC. Thanks for listening both times.

Epic
You're being pretty ambitious here and it works for me. To an extent.

This track has a lot of repetitions, and it builds up the intensity, but I wouldn't have used that one riff so many times without any alteration. Despite some small variations in the backing texture, you're basically doing nothing but that riff for the whole first minute. The first real change in texture comes after more than 3 minutes and by that time I'm sort of getting enough of that riff.

The guitar work that starts in the 4th minute is pretty cool.

Cheers Vic
I always appreciate constructive criticism. It's hard to be objective about your own stuff. I did stick some 3/4 time in the intro to break it up a bit. My favourite bit is the acoustic section, which will be a separate song one day.

I'm not really masterful ...
But I'll take the compliment, thank you. There were so many different sections (my iMac can't cope with more than 12 tracks or so)and different time signatures (which Garageband doesn't really support) that I'm amazed it got recorded at all. It helps having an ace drummer to help make sense of it all. Take a bow, Mr McNair. Thank you for listening, Mike.

Ta very much
I think there’s more Floyd and Harrison here, but I like all the incarnations of Genesis, so I understand that their influence will show.
