Lyrics
Resident Lump

He’s in your home
He’s on your car
He’s even in the bathroom ‘cos he’s lowered the bar

He’s in a circus
He’s on display
He’s even in the church when you get down to pray

If you are right on the edge
And you want to jump off that ledge

Don’t you be hesitant, set a precedent
Vote for the resident lump
Just use your gumption, he’s fit for consumption
Vote for the resident lump.

Consult the oracle, jump in your coracle
Vote for the resident lump

This war of attrition
Is not a tradition
So vote for the resident lump
He looks like a sponge, but you please take the plunge
So go vote for the resident lump
It is self – evident he will be president

Let’s all get radical
Go pass your physical
Vote for the resident lump

Don’t you be quizzical
Have to get physical
Vote for the resident lump

He’s not a deviant
Once you’re obedient
Vote for the resident lump

He’s not ignoramus
He speaks with his anus
Vote for the resident lump

To use the vernacular
He’s not a Dracula
Vote for the resident lump

If you be willin’
Just vote for the villain
Vote for the resident lump

Bloody hell
That was quick. It's usually days before I get so much as a nibble. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Charlie. I feel it's a lot 10 CC and a bit Groundhogs.

Hogwash
is my fave, but I appreciate all of their stuff. I just got a copy of the Groundhogs with John Lee Hooker, and it's excellent.

Naughty, naughty
Great fun and to the point as well.

Fine guitar slinging.

I'd have thought Wishbone Ash for the dual guitars.

I remember Tony (TS) McPhee as well. I saw them at the Roundhouse at Chalk Farm (I think) sometime in 1970 (?) and have just played Cherry Red on Youtube. Actually very good, much better than I thought it was going to be. Maybe my brain wasn't as addled then as I thought.

Cheers

The Hogs were super awesome
Tony was fond of the old hammering on trick, as am I. The rest is all smart - Alecky stuff. Drumpf deserves it, and more besides, but I am more interested in the music, which was fun to create.

I love the drums too.
David always delivers. It's like he can read my mind. What he does is examine the music and decide what it needs, which is akin to reading minds. Thank for the kudos, Calchas.

Tremendous
There will be no lies. We will honor MacJammers with the truth, and nothing else. The thing that really bothers me—my uncle was a great professor and composer at Berklee; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, very good, very smart — you know, they would say I’m one of the smartest musicians anywhere in the world — it’s true! — that’s why I always start off: was a good student, went there, went there, did this, wrote many tremendous songs — you know I have to give my, like, credentials all the time, because proggies, we’re a little disadvantaged — the things that were said about my music … you know what, I wanted to hit a couple of those guys so hard. ... I was gonna hit one guy in particular, a very little guy. I was gonna hit this guy so hard, his head would spin. He wouldn't know what the hell happened.

Tru.......Lump
Well done... lyrics witty and funny. I agree with KC, the bass out front really works. I think if you did a low shelf bass boost a couple of DB's you would have the bottom that I feel is missing. Guitar sounds great! As does the piano. Musically tight and imaginative.

Thanks
I deliberately kept the backing down a tad to keep the lyrics as clear as possible. I would have to get Tom Hellsten on the case to keep the voice and boost the bass. I appreciate the helpful criticism.

The guitar-part before the vocals begin ...
... seems to me “a bit too loud, perhaps,” but also considerably more clear, than the appearance of what seem to be the same instruments later in the song.   But, mixing a song like this is obviously tricky ...

You're right.
I wanted the guitars to be out there with the vocals, but the lyrics to this are what make it amusing, so I sacrificed some lead and fiddled with vocal amplitudes to keep them up front. I also lessened the guitar noise later, as you noticed. Thanks for listening, anyhow.

T-Rump All The Time
Slinky, Bluesy and Rocking — and I like it, Graham. Nicely done. ;)

Like T-Rex(Tyrannosaurus Rex),T-Rump (TyRantosaurus Rump) has a voracious appetite — T-Rex for flesh and T-Rump for attention. Much like a troubled, petulant child, his narcissistic behavior is not merely annoying, but actually excruciatingly EXHAUSTING. In that sense he is indeed a vampire, sucking the energy, hope and Life out of our national landscape.

Great lyrics!
And great song! Rich instrumentation, reminiscent of 70's greatness, and amplifying enunciation and intonation in the singing! Plus, points for using "vernacular" in a song.

12/8 encourages it
It's a traditional blues timing, but it gives you room for syllables, which means verbal fun. Thank you for listening, Ramona.
