Description
on re-immersion into Tokyo.
I lived and worked in Tokyo for 18 years and loved it. for me it involved a lengthy assimilation process. the song is about returning after work related travel, which I rarely enjoyed. I'm longing to disappear into Tokyo. Tokyo is a unique mixture of space age engineering and architecture and local, human scale villages.
feathered field is just a possible literal translation of "Haneda", the airport on Tokyo bay. "even the moment disappears" is likewise a literal translation of 間もなく (ma mo naku) which means "in a moment" in the anticipatory sense (i.e. in a moment we will arrive at Tokyo station)

Lyrics
disappearing man

touching down at last
on the feathered field
i’m here again
to hear again
a million sighs in silent waiting

sweep across the rainbow’s span
i see i’m fading, fading into the growing day

knowing nothing but
even the moment disappears

in the city’s warm embrace
the city’s swarm enfolds me

i see i’m fading, fading into the growing day

knowing nothing but
even the moment disappears

thank you for listening
and taking the time to comment. the guitar is basically a strat on the "clean Studio stack" in GB, with minor tweaks. Its my default.

Very nice
Lovely playing and the vocal delivery suits the music.

Hints of Japanese percussion and snippets of melodies.

Liked it.

Cheers

Tokyo in Mind
Again the instrumentation and concept are first rate. There are some little corners with ornaments and glitches that are supreme listens.
Try two experiments? Listen your master as vocals, bass and drums. Just pull the guitar and keys. Does what you are hearing make sense from a working band perspective? If it doesn't, and I would suggest that it should, you have the skill set already to make this happen.
Number two. Take the finished master recording that you love the most and put in into the DAW with you tune. A/B your mix and this finished master. Use the tools you have and get your master to sound as as close to your favorite as you can... Yer going to match the sonics: equalization, the reverb, compression, comparative volume and overall feel... Best of luck!

thank you as always.
OK just did experiment 1 and found what i think you mean. Basically at times my base is playing in a different key, so some notes are out. I suspect this is a fault i have. I've noticed I don't seem to hear bass as well as others. I find it harder to tune bass strings etc. I wonder is this a common fault? Thank you for pointing this out.
On your second point, you're suggesting i model my mix on a professionally done song that I like the sound of and I presume is close to what I'm after? I think thats a great idea and will try it out.
Thank you again so much for advice and help. I also pick up and learn from stuff you say to others.

Interesting
Initially I was drawn to the instrumentation but as the song progressed I got to that feeling of the "disappearing man", I get where you are coming from in what I think you were trying to capture and I think it works. Great song. Cheers Mark

Always in awe
of the clarity of your mixes... especially of your guitar work. Like being gently caressed by sound... Very enjoyable.
