The Nine Inch Nails Collaboration Piece. I felt that nothing really needed to be changed except for the levels . . . I duplicated some tracks, adjusted the volumes and brought out some high points for this track, and I extended it by about a minute. Definitely listen to this with headphones or a GOOD sound system. It was excellent material to begin with, Oh- and listen to it Loudly.

It's really a unique FREE Advertising Ploy Trent is using here, Draw 'em in, get 'em interested in 'NIN' and . . .Hopefully Sell more records and rise higher on the charts.

What's your take on this thought ?

Yes and no. It does function brilliantly as a marketing scheme, but its also
uniquely Reznor-esque. He's been remixing and releasing variations of his
tracks for years and also allowing other groups to do the same. I have quite a
few CDs containing remixes of NIN songs by all sorts of artists. I'm inclined to
think this experiment was driven as much by his personal modus operandi
and curiosity as it was by the marketing benefits. This is really the first time
he's released an album when music production software was so widely and
cheaply available to non-professionals. His style has always been as much
about the craft of production as it was the craft of music.

Interesting take on the subject.

Not knowing Trents' propensity to do such things, I am adverse to thinking it is a very Genius way of getting people involved with his creative side.

I can understand why anyone would enjoy hearing what "you can do with this", because I have tried it often myself.

Thanks 'chikoppi' for the insight.

In General, Music should be "Always Different", Like People.
